Hello! I am looking to rent the third bedroom in my 3br 1Ba apartment straddling Logan Square and Avondale. The room itself is medium sized, but the apartment itself is spacious with a super decked out kitchen, two living rooms, and front/back porches and yards with gardens in each. Total rent is $1760, so a third of that makes each tenant responsible for $586 in monthly rent. Utilities are gas, electric, and internet, and total about $60-80 a month on top of that per person. We split utilities three ways and right now share the burden of communal items like toilet paper and cleaning products, and if possible want to keep that arrangement going. Laundry is in building, downstairs, and is $1 per load. I have one very chill and affectionate cat; she LOVES humans, can get used to dogs rafter a while, and unfortunately hates other cats. The landlord is super attentive and responsible, and I've been here four years because he's been on top of any problems I've brought to his attention right away. Actual walk time to belmont blue line is 7 minutes, walking to Logan Square blue line is 8. 40 minute bike ride to the Loop. Street permit parking is available on the block and nearby, and downstairs tenants are moving out so a parking spot in back of the apartment is becoming available. We try to keep communal spaces tidy and organized; we aren't total neat freaks, but try to keep the space comfortable and functional and want our third roommate to be willing to pitch in with shared chores. We would prefer to live with someone who is comfortable with direct communication and giving/receiving feedback to maintain a harmonious living environment; everyone has different living styles, but communication is important so everyone can be comfortable and happy. Please email me if interested; I would like to meet potential roommates in a public place like a coffee shop before showing the apartment (this is the internet). Communal areas are furnished (couches, tables, chairs) and the kitchen is about as equipped as a kitchen ever reasonably should be, so I reccomend just coming with furniture for your bedroom. The room can fit a queen bed, small dresser, and side table, and has a medium sized closet. There is some communal storage space available as well if you don't want to put extra smaller stuff in storage. I cook for a living and so come home very late (2-4 AM). I try to be quiet coming home, but light sleepers beware, the floorboards do make noise and that is the only noise I can't really reduce when entering the house. If you're a heavy or moderate sleeper you definitely won't notice. We aren't big party animals, but have friends over occasionally for dinner and keep it to a reasonable volume/timeframe and always ask first. 420 friendly indoors, smoking cigarettes is okay outside the house (there is an ashtray on the back porch), but please, no hard drugs. I am in my late 20's, and I am a female chef. My one current roommate is in his mid-20's, works at the U of C, and enjoys playing music, and is also an avid cook. The room is available November 26; my roommate is moving to Europe on that day for his job. If you are interested in a lease, the one prerequisite is just that you fill out an application with the landlord and consent to a credit check. If you would prefer to sublease, I personally just ask that you demonstrate with pay stubs or references that you are reliably able to pay rent on time. BONUS, the upstairs neighbors and I maintain a full-swing vegetable garden, so there are abundant peppers, tomatoes, and eggplants for grabs if you decide to live here. Even if you aren't a veggie person, there are a lot of plants and flowers around, so it is a very nice yard to hang out in with a fire pit and a BBQ.

Seeking roommate for two bedroom, first floor apartment in a beautiful home on the border of Avondale and Logan Square. I want to find someone by March 1st but it's available immediately. Free on-site laundry and all utilities included make this a great deal. Hardwood floors. Cozy neighborhood feel with a back yard in one of Chicago's funnest neighborhoods. Walking distance from some of the best restaurants and bars in the city. Short walk to the Belmont and Kimball blue line L stop. Easy access to the Kennedy Expressway. The landlord will conduct a background check. No smoking or pets. About me: I'm a man over 30 who writes about environmental issues during the day. In the evening I'm usually out to work, see live music or go to a pinball arcade bar.
Hello! I'm looking for a roommate to move in and sublet a room from January 1st to July 31st. Move in date is flexible as I'm open to having someone move in before the first but this would need to be discussed beforehand. I'm looking for someone employed, responsible and drama-free who is capable of keeping the space neat and tidy. I'm not too strict but I do like to keep the common areas clean and tidy and I'm seeking someone who values a clean living space as well. What you do in your room is your business but let's keep the bathroom, living room, and kitchen (especially the sink) clean. I have a chubby cat who is very affectionate and friendly. The unit is located on the ground floor of the 2900 block of W Nelson St. in an ideal location just a few steps away from the 77 and 52 buses, a few blocks away from the Belmont Blue Line station and right off the expressway. There are a 2 Jewel-Osco stores, 2 Walgreens, 2 Targets, an Aldi, and a Marianos all within a 2 mile radius. And a lot of cool hang out places and food spots. This unit is a 2 and a half bedroom, I use one bedroom and the other functions as an office space/guest room and additional Storage area. The available room is average to small, is large enough to fit a king sized bed and a dresser in it but does not have a closet. I have an even smaller room with a decent closet, however that closet will be used for shared for storage. So I suggest bringing a dresser and brushing up on your folding skills, something to be aware of beforehand. Please note*** ALL UTILITIES INCLUDED in rent (Gas, Electric, internet). Move in fee($250) and first months rent required before move in day. Non-Smoking Rooms.(Although I do smoke Hookah in the house often everything else is to be smoked outside) House Rules Apply (no smoking in the rooms, clean up after yourself, basically leave any shared room or product ready for the next person to use etc). I am renting a room to one person, not you and your significant other. Occasional overnight guests are fine of course. The kitchen has plenty of kitchenware you are welcome to use so long as you clean it after and leave it ready for the next person to use. The room pictured above is currently furnished but roommate will be moving with her stuff so it will probably be empty. Looking to have someone move in by 01/01. If you're interested please send mean email with a little bit about yourself and we can set up a time for you to come check out the place.
Looking for some roommates in a relaxed home atmosphere? Great. We got you. The home is a two-floor upper to a duplex in a quiet neighborhood. We have a backyard with fruit trees, a spot in the garage for parking, big living room with hardwood floors, huge tiled kitchen with all modern appliances and granite counters, laundry, two full bathrooms, and you get two pretty neat roommates to boot. Your room would be the one upstairs with a skylight. It's cozy but has lots of closet space. You'd share the upstairs with Nick, and have free roam of both levels and can put up or move in whatever you want. We can make it work. Nick has some pet rodents. They stick to his room and their cage. Bring along your nice dog to see the place if you'd like (no breed restrictions). We are not interested in cats, however. Do you have furniture? A TV? A dining room table? If so, cool. If not, we're going to look into replacing those. We are keeping the couch in the living room photos. If you have something you'd like to bring, we can move stuff around and help you make the place your own. We are within 5-10 minutes walking of the Belmont Blue Line, Belmont and Kimball buses, Kennedy freeway, three grocery stores, a liquor store, Walgreens, good bars, and good Mexican food. We're just a 10-minute walk from Logan Square. Just 20 minutes on the train to downtown. Our landlord has fixed any issues promptly. We like him. Our neighbors are families. They're great. Rent hovers between the $500-$600 range throughout the year. Security deposit will be the same. Your possible roommates: Nick is a social media manager by day and an avid reader by night. He cooks, has some plants, rides his bike, and writes in between. Tori is a flight attendant with an unpredictable schedule. She flies often, cooks pizza and biscuits, and is working on her Instagram account. We're LGBT-friendly, 420- and smoking-okay (just do it outside), dog-friendly, and all around good people. Just be clean and respectful and we'd love to have you live here.
Roommate and I are moving into a new apartment in Logan. Looking for one more to join us. We are both male, and work in the foodservice industry meaning we work late hours. The apartment is spacious and has plenty of room for your furniture. Both of us are pretty laid back, clean, and are looking for someone similar.
The property is located 350 ft away from the Belmont blue line stop. In adittion 400 ft away from the expressway 94. Free parking in the back lot. There is a washer, dryer and dishwasher, in the unit. The building is three Floors. This room is on the second floor. All tenants get along very well. There are two roommates and a dog that live here. Both 26 year old males that work nights in the bar industry for Rockit bar and Mad River. Rarely home, not many rules just be respectful. The dog is very friendly has no cage does not need on he is trained. Very relaxed environment smoking is allowed.
I love making a house into a home - decorating and creating a cozy environment is important to me! I'm laid-back and introverted, but I love to build community by having friends over. I'm really not into partying or being too wild. I'm super involved at church in Wicker Park, I work off the blue line, I'm a graphic designer and photographer.
I am a roommate who isn't home a lot but when I am you usually can't tell I'm there. I'm quiet, tend not to have a lot of guests and happy to help around the house. I like pets but have none of my own.
Australian who has just travelled the USA and is looking to settle down in Chicago. Im fairly outgoing and very easy going/laid back. I get along with anyone and am just looking to sink myself into this city's atmosphere/culture.
I have a full time and part time job, all bills are on time which is super important to me. I am chill, no drama type. Occasionally I will cook, but mostly am out working coming home in the evening. Sometimes I am home on the weekends depending if I pick up at my part time. I do have a dog, 3 yr old Wheaten/ACD mix girl who depending on the apartment she will come with, if not it's ok I have a place for her to stay. I do have a 12 yr old, but she lives out of state with grandparents, so I tend to go visit over holidays. My boyfriend spends some nights since we have opposite schedules it is just the time we get to see each other. I am outgoing, funny, clean, respectful, and love to enjoy the occasional drink to wind down. Prefer to live in Logan Square, Hermosa, Avondale, Pilsen, or near the blue line/90/94 expressway.
Hi! My name is Nichole and I recently moved to the city from Michigan for school. I am currently a student at NEIU as a Psych and Women's and Genders Studies major. I work for Half Acre Brewery, Honey Butter Fried Chicken, and Sunday Dinner Club- so lots of great deals on snacks. I am responsible; compassionate; understanding; hard working; and personable. I enjoy adventuring; music; art; bad scary movies; thought provoking books; dancing; food; and puns. I grew up with siblings and have had roommates before so I understand the importance of boundaries, privacy, and doing your part. I'm an easy going, soft spoken, goofy person in need of place to call home; so please let me know if you think we might be a good roommate match.
We have a partitioned off room for rent. We don't use the living room so we converted it into an other bedroom. It is curtained off and private. The rent would only be $150 and you would pay 1/3 of the gas and electric. I just graduated culinary school and the other roommate is working on her masters degree. We are quiet and respectful. We keep a clean apartment and the neighborhood is safe and nice. The room had a mattress that the previous roommate left and 2 stand alone racks for clothes. You would be welcome to bring any of your things and we could move the mattress if you didn't need it. A twin bed would fit very nicely in there if you wanted to bring one. There is a closet in the entry way that is for your use as well. The landlord doesn't allow smoking or pets. We are a block from the bus stop and about an 8 minute from the blue line.
I'm a clean, friendly person. I love pets but I don't have any of my own. I love cooking and binging Netflix/HBO. I don't smoke and I rarely drink, I do like to go out on weekends but I never bring the party home. I'm looking for roommates who are also tidy and relaxed individuals who want to find roommates as well as friends.
Producer. Comedian. Bike Rider. I have two Amazing Cats. Super mindful and easy going. I work at an animal hospital, produce/perform at shows throughout the week. I grew up an hour and a half northwest of Chicago. I definitely favor vintage looking apartments and simplicity.
Hi there! We are 2 friends & roommates looking for individuals or a couple to join us in our spacious duplex apartment in Avondale starting June 1st. We have 2 rooms available as well as a garage parking spot (for an additional price: see below). Here are the detail: The House: Nick-named the ‘Castle of Avondale,’ it is a massive house on a large corner lot in Avondale. The landlord lives in the lower 1st floor unit and is readily available. The unit takes up the second and third floor of the house, with access to the basement for storage. Amenities includes: • Large wrap-around front porch • Enclosed back porch (mostly for storage) • Access to the large side-yard and lattice roof covered patio/ grill area • In-unit washer and dryer • Large kitchen with dishwasher and modern appliances and granite island • Open and bright furnished living room/dining rooms with 10 ft ceilings and ginormous windows • Plentiful basement storage; shared garage storage (exclusive parking available) • About 2600 ft2 total space (excluding basement and garage) The Location: Located on a quiet street kitty-corner to a church/elementary school; steps away from the Belmont blue line station; multiple restaurants within walking distance including Kuma’s Corner, DönerMen, and Jai-Yen Thai and Sushi. The Rooms: We have 2 rooms available, with different amenities and price points. • Room 1: On the bottom level of the apartment right off the living room. Room is 9’ x 9’2”, with a small closet and small dresser in a built-in nook. Has one large east-facing window that overlooks the front of the house and the porch and hardwood floors. Heated by forced air radiators. Shared bathroom with other first floor resident, B; will have half of available storage in bathroom. • Room 2: Second master bedroom on the top level. Room has awkward shape (see floor plan) but is roughly 295 ft2. Has a large 7’4”x 6’3” walk in closet (≈ 45 ft2); private bath with shower; large west-facing window with north and south skylights in the vaulted ceilings; carpeted floors, inlaid shelves; private back door entrance from back porch; and central heat and air. Please note the center of the ceilings is standard height, and slope near the east and west walls. The Roommates: We are B and D, long term friends and roommates in our early 30s and late 20s, respectively. We are friendly and considerate roommates who work to keep the common areas clean and welcoming. We really love this apartment and are looking to stay here as long as possible! B is a female who works downtown in a law office. She's a dog lover and will occasionally dog sit for friends. She's a fan of comics, HIT training, cooking/baking, and coins herself as an "urban hiker." She's also looking into possibly adopting a doggo soon. She rents out the larger bedroom on the first floor, off the dining room. D is a gay male who works in administration at Northwestern University’s medical school. He's into video games, anime, and RuPauls Drag Race. Does like to spend time in his room but can easily be convinced to go out is food is used as an incentive (although he's super picky). He rents the other master bedroom on the top floor. Hopefully after reading all this you’re still interested in the rooms! If so, please reach out and tell us about yourself; we can arrange a meeting and showing of the apartment if things hit it off. Monthly rent will vary depending on who may be interested in the rooms. If they will be rented out by individuals, Room 1 be $610.00 and Room 2 will be $900. If someone wants exclusive use of the garage parking spot, rent will be reduced by $30 each and $120 added to the monthly rent. If a couple wishes to rent out room 2, Room 1 will be $524 and Room 2 will be $1148 ($574/ea.); rent will be reduced by $24 per person if someone wants the parking space exclusively. Utilities (internet and electric) usually average $60 a month depending on usage. We dog-sit for friends and B is looking into adopting, so a love and/or tolerance of dogs is strongly suggested. Please note that we will be resigning the lease so at least a year commitment will be required as well as a security deposit and first month’s rent. Landlord may also require a credit and background check. Pricing Structure If 1 Individual per Room Shared Garage Storage Room 1: $610.00 Room 2: $900.00 Exclusive Garage Parking* Room 1: $610.00 Room 2: $900.00 If Room 2 Shared with a Couple Shared Garage Storage Room 1: $524.00 Room 2: $1,148.00 (Each): $574.00 Exclusive Garage Parking* Room 1: $500.00 610Room 2: $1,100.00 (Each): $550.00
My sister and I live in a 3 bedroom apartment in Avondale and are looking to rent out our third bedroom. Some amenities include laundry in our building, dishwasher, free street parking if your drive, first floor of a three floor building. We are close to both the blue line and a bus stop so taking public transit is very easy. We do have a cat, but he is very friendly and will most likely cuddle you whenever you sit down.
I'm a Commercial Diver and Pile Driver. I work marine construction, and I love the water. I like doing some projects around the house so we can plan some cool ideas together like building things 👍🏾 I enjoy music, movies and a good tv show to watch. I am clean, organized and easy to get along with. I enjoy swimming, going to the beach over the summer, bike rides and finding a new restaurant to try.
I am a 26 year old male, born and raised in Southwest ChicagoLand. I am currently going to school to become a certified alcohol and drug counselor and I am also a musician/DJ/producer. I also am a Certified Reiki Practitioner, which is a form of Energy Healing. Some would call me an Urban Hippie. I do not do drugs or drink anymore, but casual drinking or whatever doesn't bother me. I am clean, I am always on time with rent, and I am for the most part quiet, (I have separate studio space to record/practice music) and and there is usually a smile on my face. If this seems like it fits with you and your vibe then hit me up!
Hey! I'm a chill, cheerful roommate who occasionally loves to cook and share! I'm very respectful of shared spaces, clean, and always up for a game. My little Staffordshire Terrier is very calm and is the best couch cuddle buddy and an agility champ when she comes to work with me!
