This is two rooms and shared bath. No kitchen. It’s half a shotgun double. There are two rooms in the front (yours) and two rooms in the back (mine) separated by a short hallway and bathroom between our respective halves. You can lock your hallway door as can I. If you’re not in the bathroom, leave the door open. If the bathroom door is closed, someone is in there. That’s basically all you need to know. Be an adult about cleaning. I’m not neurotic about it. It’s usually just like the picture–guy clean. I don’t care if you smoke or drink or partake in accoutrements, just be a trained professional about it. I can’t stand amateurs. If you’re sloppy or dramatic, a police magnet, or violent, yer ass is out. This is not a party palace. You can have a guest from time to time as I do.
That being said, I am ultimately laissez-faire about everything. It would not be wise to move in if you’re a Trump fan and blast Fox news in your TV. I am strong labor left wing politically which means I’m not a hippy dippy idiot either. It takes a wickedly dark sense of humor and copious booze to make it through one of these “unprecedented” weeks.
While the rooms are a bit small, you get two of them. There is no kitchen, so if you’re a cook, this wouldn’t be good for you. But you can use a microwave or toaster oven or hot-plate and I will have a mini-fridge in there for you. Take out your garbage and don’t let your science experiments get out of control.
The best part of the place is the location. It’s at the geographic heart of the town and very quick to hit all the major arteries: I-10, Earhart, Broad, Tulane, Carrollton, Napoleon, Norman C Francis, Calliope, etc.
It’s a quiet working class neighborhood tucked in around Xavier University. Great for bikes if you don’t have a car, a bit of a walk to busses but like I said: all the major arteries. There is usually parking on the street. Driveway is mine as I have to access construction equipment in the back. I work for the landlord.
