It is my housemate Phillip and I in the home. The new housemate would be sharing a bathroom with Phillip. We are quite different, but get along great. I do not smoke or drink, but Phillip does smoke cannabis on the back porch and keeps alcohol in the home. I don’t mind if someone else does as well, but this is not a party household; I prefer non-drunk people (a drink with dinner is totally fine). There is also a male tenant in the ADU in the backyard, he is a traveling nurse who decided to stay. While the yard is shared with everyone, we never see him. Home is generally very quiet. Phillip occasionally plays video games, and there is some noise there. It doesn’t bother me, but we can have conversations. I am very active. I work for a school district. I bike a lot. I know all of the neighbors. I am independent, and I enjoy my swim team.
I am not looking for a best friend, but it is important that someone is friendly and minimally conversational in passing. Community-based feeling. If we get a long way past that, great. That’s the only expectation. I do not want to be someone’s only companion.
