Room For Rent in affordable, Co-Living Space on 2nd Floor of Single Family Home.
Available June 25th with expected move out of current occupant on or before June 24th.
This room is medium/good sized.
It will be provided as an empty room with a window, closet, and plenty of room for 1-2 people.
You can bring your own bed or we can help you with one.
This is not luxury living. It is clean, functional, basic, and when things break around the house, they are addressed quickly and a solution is made.
It is everyone’s joint responsibility to clean the common areas including kitchen and bathrooms.
The space is designed to maximize living space while not overcrowding.
This is ideal for a single person or couple who would like affordable, flexible housing terms with the option to stay as long as you’d like and the flexibility to vacate the property when desired.
It’s also for someone who may want to have their own place. However, they realize it is so expensive in this area (both the monthly cost, one month’s deposit amount, and paying for utilities all on your own) or they may not qualify with strict rent guidelines. And they see that it might be better to rent a room to keep their living costs down, still live in this area, and be willing to live with other people and deal with some irritations that may possibly come as a result (as is common when people are living around each other). However, overall, given the pros and cons, it makes sense.
The prices to rent in the bay area and buy a house are from supply and demand, and while they may seem high or unfair to some, they would not be that way if houses were not renting or selling for those prices. That’s the current market value. This is a practical solution and reality to create an affordable housing solution in the bay area. There are also plenty of other places to live in the country that are more affordable these days.
Everyone is month to month and has the option to move out the same day and receive back a prorated amount. This gives everyone the peace of mind (just in case they don’t like living here or have an issue with someone) that they are not locked in.
Good for someone also looking to stay for a short time like 1-2 months.
The main criteria to live here is to be clean, respectful of others around you, open to living among other people, and reliable at paying your amount due.
There is street parking only for this property. There are parking places in all directions depending on the time of day. You may have to park 1-2 blocks away at times if you can’t find a spot near the house. Also, you will need to watch street sweeping signs to not get a ticket.
Central location. Close to public transportation of trains and trolley about 2 blocks down.
Laundry on first floor garage. 1 washer and dryer shared with everyone.
$1,300 a month plus shared utilities.
The total utilities of water, electric, wifi, and trash is added up, divided, and split up by the amount of people living here. This is to spread the costs so it is more reasonable per person and to keep people accountable and incentivized not to abuse utilities and turn off the lights, not over use water, etc. This payment can vary. It is usually between $80 to $100 per person though.
$500 deposit.
