Looking for Neighbors, full apartment in the Heights (couples and pets welcome!), well communicated with Manhattan
Hi there! My husband and I live in one of the two apartments of a two-floor building. The other apartment is going to become vacant in early or mid-December. The commute with the city is very good, we live 12 min walking from Journal Square station (I use a scooter and then it’s 5), and then you can take two different PATH trains: one of them leaves you in World Trace Center in 10 minutes, and the other leaves you in 33rd Street (Penn Station) in 20 minutes.
The apartment is about 900 sq ft, has two bedrooms, a big one and a small one (currently used as an office), a backyard and a parking spot. Laundry is only shared with us.
We still need to ask our landlady for the specific rent for the new tenants, but I can already tell you that it would almost certainly be under 2000 dollars per month.
A little bit about us: we are a Spanish-Dutch married couple, 32 and 31. My husband is studying a Philosophy PhD at Rutgers University, and I am a baroque musician (I play baroque flute, a very soft instrument, you wouldn´t hear me study). After I graduated last year from Juilliard (and having previously lived and studied in Amsterdam), I am now pursuing a Doctoral Program at Stony Brook. Our landlady trusts us to choose our next neighbors and we’d really like to share the space with people we like and get along with. It is important for us and for her that, while we’re able to respect each other’s space, we form a nice and friendly community with good and collaborative people. Rutger and I are calm, and don’t play loud music. We have no pets here, but we love animals, and the landlady allows pets for a small monthly fee, if you were to consider it.
If you have survived reading until here and think this could be a nice option for you, feel free to write to me. We’d be happy to meet in person (or through video-call) and show you the place!
