The Room: Private room and en suite bathroom for rent. Cost is $850 with month to month lease. Minimum 3 month rental. Long-term rentals are also an option. Single occupants only. No couples or more than one person to reside in the room. Available room is located on the second floor. Rent includes utilities and internet (Ethernet connection available in addition to WIFI).
The Home: Renter has access to washer, dryer, kitchen, dining area, backyard, and back patio. Pest control will service the home every other month as a preventive measure.
Location: in NorthWest Bakersfield. Cal State Bakersfield is located 3 miles away (5 min drive or 16 min bike ride according to Google Maps). The Park at River Walk is 3 miles away. A variety of restaurants/food trucks, grocery stores and shops are located near the home, including: Sprouts, Trader Joe’s, Albertsons, Vallarta, Ross, TJ Maxx and Target to name a few.
Guests/Visitors: No frequent day visitors in order to keep a quiet environment since owner works from home. No hosting of groups. Overnight guests are sparingly permitted pending advanced approval by home owner.
Pets: One small hypoallergenic dog currently resides in the home, so we are seeking someone who enjoys living with dogs. Please note that homeowner’s husband shares a dog with his parents, so on some weekends his dog will also be in the home. -No additional pets by renters please due to the owner’s dog already occupying the home and animal allergies (cats and some dogs) by current occupants.
Requirements to Apply for Rental of Room: Interested applicants may message me through Roomies. We will then schedule a video appointment to provide an introduction and view the home. After this meeting, and if both parties wish to move forward with the application process, the applicant will be invited to schedule an in-person visit to tour the home and meet the owner. Background check, credit check, and proof of income are required. Aside from fees associated with background/credit checks, there is no additional monetary fee for applying for the room. Background and credit check may be completed through Roomies.
Desired Roommate: We are seeking one person to rent a room in our home. No hard liquor/heavy drinking, smoking/drug use is permitted in the home or on the property at any time. Renters will need to pay rent on time, maintain a quiet environment, be respectful of housemates and tidy up after the use of common areas.
We seek to maintain a collaborative and relaxed atmosphere where people can unwind when at home. Cleanliness and collaboration is important to us and helps us live in a peaceable manner. We are seeking someone who shares these values. The homeowner, homeowner’s husband and two additional female roommates reside in the home. Owner works from home and enjoys dinner with friends and family. Owner’s parents may visit the home on occasion. Owner’s husband works as an engineer, is very handy, and enjoys exploring nature and photography. Owner’s dog is a miniature schnauzer who enjoys belly rubs. Two additional female roommates currently reside in the home. One is a nursing student at Cal State Bakersfield and the other is a nurse. Both are friendly, respectful and clean.
