Private Room for Rent – Northwest Bakersfield The Room: Private Second-floor room with its own bathroom available for rent. Rent is $850/month, including utilities and internet (WiFi + Ethernet available). Month-to-month lease with a 3-month minimum stay, though long-term rentals are welcome. Single occupancy only. No couples.
Renter will have access to own bathroom. Please note however, that there’s a storage closet located in the bathroom that owner on occasion may need access to.
The room can be furnished if desired with: a bed, desk, office chair, dresser, and side table.
The Home: Shared access includes washer & dryer, kitchen with designated cupboard and fridge space, dining area, backyard and patio
The home is professionally serviced for pest control every other month as a preventative measure.
Location: Conveniently located in Northwest Bakersfield Approximately 3 miles from California State University, Bakersfield Near The Park at River Walk Close to shopping, grocery stores, restaurants, and food trucks including Trader Joe’s, Sprouts Farmers Market, Target, Ross Dress for Less, and TJ Maxx Less than a mile from Greenacres PicklePlex for pickleball enthusiasts
Guests & Visitors: To help maintain a quiet and comfortable home environment, frequent daytime visitors and group gatherings are not permitted. Occasional overnight guests may be allowed with advance approval.
Pets: One small hypoallergenic dog lives in the home, so we’re looking for someone comfortable around dogs. Another dog belonging to owner’s husband may occasionally visit on weekends. No additional pets, please, due to allergies and existing pets in the home.
Application Process: If interested, please message through Roomies. We’ll start with a video call to introduce ourselves and show the home. If it feels like a good fit for everyone, we’ll schedule an in-person tour. Background check, credit check, and proof of income are required. Aside from fees associated with background/credit checks, there is no additional monetary fee for applying for the room. Background and credit check may be completed through Roomies.
Ideal Roommate: We’re looking for someone who is respectful, clean, quiet, and pays rent on time. No smoking, drug use, heavy drinking, or hard liquor on the property. Renters are expected to clean up after themselves and help maintain a peaceful living environment.

Location: Located in NorthWest Bakersfield. Cal State Bakersfield is located 3 miles away (5 min drive or 16 min bike ride according to Google Maps). The Park at River Walk is 3 miles away. A variety of restaurants/food trucks, grocery stores and shops are located near the home, including: Sprouts, Trader Joe’s, Albertsons, Ross, TJ Maxx and Target to name a few.
Guests/Visitors: No frequent day visitors in order to keep a quiet environment since owner works from home. No hosting of groups. Overnight guests are sparingly permitted with advanced approval of home owner.
Pets: One small hypoallergenic dog currently resides in the home, so we are seeking someone who enjoys living with dogs. Please note that homeowner’s husband shares a dog with his parents, so on some weekends his dog will also be in the home. -No additional pets by renters please due to the owner’s dog already occupying the home and animal allergies (cats and some dogs) by current occupants.

If both parties wish to move forward with the application process, the applicant will be invited to schedule an in-person visit to see the home and meet the owner. Desired Roommate: We are seeking one person to rent a room in our home. No hard liquor/heavy drinking, smoking/drug use is permitted in the home or on the property at any time. Renters will need to pay rent on time, maintain a quiet environment, and clean their bathroom and tidy up after the use of common areas.

Cleanliness, communication, and consideration for shared spaces are important to us and help create a peaceful living atmosphere. We’re looking for someone who values a similar lifestyle.
The home is shared by the homeowner, her husband, and two additional roommates. The homeowner works from home and enjoys spending time with friends and family, including occasional visits from her parents. Her husband is an engineer who enjoys nature, photography, and working on projects around the home. Owner’s dog is a friendly miniature schnauzer who loves belly rubs. The two current roommates are friendly, respectful, and clean — one is a student (female) and the other (male) works in housing.
