About the room
We’re looking for a new housemate to move into a basement bedroom in our shared house. The room is unfurnished, though we’re happy to provide basic furniture (bed, nightstand, dresser) at no additional cost. The lease is for at least 6 months, and the rent is $900 per month, with additional bills running about $120 each month, depending on the time of year. A deposit of $900 is required. The room is located at the back corner of the house, right next to the basement restroom and common living area. It gets great sunlight in the morning and evening through two windows, but you may want a lamp for the midday and evening hours. Our house is near 92nd and Federal in Westminster, just a 5-minute walk to several bus lines and a 10-minute drive to the RTD train station. We have two living rooms with comfortable seating and a TV, plus an updated kitchen with a new washer, dryer, dishwasher, and refrigerator. Bathrooms are shared, with no specific bathrooms designated for anyone, though most people tend to use the bathroom on their own floor.
About the roomies
The roommates are a mix of personalities, all respectful and easy to get along with. I (Aspen, 27NB) and my partner Steve (32M) live in the basement and share a room with our dog. Upstairs, Summer (27F) We are all queer and we’re a laid-back group. We occasionally get together for dinner or hang out late on weekends. During the week, we’re all busy with school or work and usually leave before 9 AM, returning anywhere between noon and 10 PM. The room comfortably fits a queen-sized bed, a desk, and a bookshelf. There is also plenty of additional storage space in the house and in the backyard shed. The house is kept tidy, though it can occasionally feel a bit cluttered. We are collectively responsible for the yard. Our house rules are simple and straightforward: be considerate of others, take out the trash when it’s full, clean up after yourself, and respect everyone’s food in the fridge (label your food with your name and date). Smoking tobacco must be done outside, but vaping indoors is fine. We have a big backyard and a doggy door so a dog is welcome, but unfortunately we cannot accept any cats due to allergies. Other types of pets such as reptiles and fish can be discussed. For parking, Steve and I park in the driveway, and there’s first-come, first-serve street parking available. We can fit three cars in front of the house and can always find a spot within a few houses of ours at worst. If you’re interested, feel free to reach out! We can arrange a time for you to see the space and meet the housemates. If we move forward, you’ll need to fill out a rental application and provide references and proof of employment.
