Great midtown location in a quiet neighborhood. Vegetable garden with tomatoes and blackberries. On Biggs street, located near Rhodes College and Overton Park and the bus line on Jackson Ave makes it convenient to get to hospitals downtown (great place for medical or dental students or hospital employees). Great for Rhodes College, medical and dental professors or students. Bike to Rhodes or Christian Brothers University. Ten minutes to University of Memphis or downtown/hospitals by car. Locked bicycle space. The room is upstairs with a Queen-size bed plus dresser, bookshelves, bed table, desk, chair and lamps. Full access to common areas which include laundry room with a washer and dryer, kitchen, dining room, living room and covered porch. The character of the house is quiet and restful yet friendly. Illegal activities are not tolerated since we have professional people who do not want to be involved in crimes. This is a place where you can make friends and have people you can talk to, yet have a safe place to lay your head down at night. Unfortunately we cannot take dogs or cats, even comfort animals, because one of the residents has serious allergies to animals.
We are co-ed and have a wide range of ages from mid-twenties to mid-sixties. Everyone is expected to be friendly, considerate, and to help keep the house clean and tidy. We only occasionally eat together and sometimes will celebrate birthdays and other holidays. Because of people having very different schedules, celebrations are sometimes just putting out a cake with a sign that says “help yourself.”
