Quiet, garden setting, it is set back, house not really visible from the street. 23 minute walk to UCB campus. or 10-15 min bike ride. Centrally located, 10 -15 min walk to BART, downtown, Trader Joes, 10 min bike ride to either of the Berkeley Bowls, or Monterey Market, or the Cheeseboard.

Room is at end of hallway upstairs, there is southern exposure balcony with a bench beyond the room, (great in winter) Room has an operable skylight with screen on the east side looks out to back garden and redwood tree. The other window is south facing looks out to the balcony so room has natural light in morning to early afternoon. It has an attic tree house feel with sloping roof rising to 9’ high ceiling. It has a double bed, an armoire, chest of drawers, night stand, desk with lamp. It is about 97SF (9x11 approx) not a large room but packs a lot of comfort.

Once a month professional house cleaning is included in the rent as well as with utilities, wifi, electrical/water/heat. Also convenient use of washer and dryer on ground level basement floor. Can just wheel bicycles inside for dry and safe storage. This is all included in the rent, provides a supportive lifestyle for busy lives.

Common rooms are welcome to use, lots natural light in each part of the house at various times of the day. Piano in living room. Large dining table seats 6+. Well equipped kitchen! . We sometimes share meals, like conversations, but are pretty busy. Nice rhythm of solo and shared time in the house. Garden has wifi connection, there is a bbq, benches, table and chairs.Three or four times a year, there is a Garden Work Party (lunch is served!) as help in the garden unless you like gardening more, like I do… :)

Rooming with grad students and a postdoc and me, a retired landscape designer who owns the house. We are five in all in each private rooms with three floor levels, two full baths on separate floors.
