About the room

Single (10’x10’) private bedroom in a 825 square foot apartment in a four unit building in the Lakewood area of Jacksonville with central air. There’s a laundry room on site (just down the road) that’s always been open 24/7 and can be used with coins, credit cards, or an app.

Things are super walkable here, with a Winn Dixie, Pet Supermarket, Community First Credit Union and a couple of restaurants a three minute walk across University Blvd and several restaurants and other assorted businesses in the block between Auburn Rd and Hendricks/San Jose Blvd. If you go down University for a mile, there’s a Publix, CVS, Walgreens, Goodwill, Dollar Tree, and just a whole bunch more things on that strip.

The area is really quiet, with the exception of the noise of kids playing or the occasional bass thumper driving through the area and, in the six years I’ve lived here, I’ve never caught wind of any crime happening in the complex.

Rent is $700 flat per month and it includes electric and internet as well as the use of any streaming services I am subscribed to and my media server. Cable is NOT hooked up, but you can choose to pay for it if you need to.

About the roomies

Hi! I’m Emily, the only person you’re going to have to deal with here! I’m 37 years old and have lived with various roommates for about 20 years, so I’m used to (and enjoy) having someone else around. I’m a super easy going person and am happy to compromise on any problems that may arise.

I spend most of my time watching movies and TV shows I’ve downloaded or listening to music. I’m not currently employed and don’t have a vehicle, so I’m almost always home unless I’ve got an appointment or I’ve walked to one of the stores in the area. I try my best not to bother anyone I live with, but I also love interacting with people when they are interested. My roommate of six years just moved out because she didn’t want to pay the increase in rent (and I don’t blame her!) and I’m really in need of someone to take her place.
