Short-term roommate needed starting June 1st: 3-6 months Looking for a place to stay during a summer internship? Want to give the area a try without committing for a whole year? This place could be just what you’re looking for.

Our apartment is a lovely top floor corner unit with central air, big windows, vaulted ceilings, a balcony, large capacity washer/dryer, and a friendly tortoiseshell cat named Lia. Home is fully-furnished and has a cozy bohemian/ethnic vibe. Your room includes a queen-sized bed and a small desk. If you need more, just ask and we’ll be happy to furnish it for you.

Price includes 1/3 rent, various apartment complex fees, all utilities, wifi internet, washer/dryer. We don’t have cable, but do have a few streaming subscriptions. You will of course be able to use all our appliances, kitchenware, etc. and have full access to everything but our private bedroom and bathroom.

Room features: 13’4 x `11’4 bedroom, walk-in closet, and private bathroom with bathtub. 2-door access (entry hall and living room).

Apartment complex features: Gated parking garage, security, valet trash, 2 pools, fitness room, business office, prompt maintenance, and a variety of community activities. We’ve lived here for 2 years and like it very much. It’s a nice place to live. Located in Deep Ellum across the street from the DART station (Baylor).

A few must-haves for a potential roommate: You must…

• have a reliable source of income, be able to pay rent on time every month, and be able to pass the apartment complex’s application process and credit/security check.
• be child-free and pet-free (caged pets like reptiles or fish probably OK; please ask).
• be vaccinated and able to show proof, drug free, smoke-free (not even on the balcony)
• be a decent person with low drama who keeps fairly normal hours, can clean up after yourself regularly, and isn’t interested in turning the place into party central.

About us! We’re a mid-40s married couple and one cat looking for roommate to offset rent in our Deep Ellum apartment. We’re chill, nerdy, non-smokers, drug-free, very light drinkers, vaccinated (with boosters), and diversity-friendly. Honestly, we’re pretty boring and mostly spend our time watching t.v., playing videogames, or going out with friends. We don’t entertain much at all, but when we do it’s a board game night or Dungeons & Dragons. We can be as sociable as you want us to be. Want to hang out and get dinner and watch some Netflix? We can do that. Want to be a hermit in your room and be left alone? We can do that, too. Your friends are welcome, but we don’t want to host parties every weekend, right? Have a boyfriend/girlfriend? That’s great and they’re welcome to visit, too, but we’re only looking for 1 roommate, not 2.
