A sweet spot indeed: house featured twice on Logan Square HouseWalk, includes front porch, back porch, lush gardens, and small pond. Super location in the heart of Logan Square, 200 yards from Starbucks and 3.5 blocks from the California L station.

This is a housemate situation – you get full use of the whole first floor: living room, dining room, study, and nat’l prize winning kitchen, plus of course the porches, yards, and basement patio (with grill). Delightful home. Right off Logan Boulevard, great location.

Your bedroom is admittedly smallish –tho fits a double bed and has lots of storage and closets. The previous roomie also worked out of there a lot of the time – but there is also a largely unused study on the first floor.

Lots of light and plants. Skylight and patio door in your room. Whole-house AC plus an additional unit in your room.

You share a bathroom with the other roomie on the second floor (tho another full bath on the first that you’re of course free to use).

Sorry, but no pets (multiple bad experiences on that), know that i have an outdoor cat who occasionally graces us with her presence (may not be a problem if you have allergies, she is rarely on the first floor and will definitely not try to jump in your lap or rub on you).

Cool scene, while we share the house, privacy is totally respected … best of both worlds.

Other housemate is a low-key male occupational therapist … the “homeowner” (me –actually the bank owns the house more than i do ;-) is a laid-back sailor, architect/carpenter, former foreign correspondent, and retired CTA rail worker … also co-coordinator of the Chicago Cuba Coalition) – i live in the basement (am male and am considered Caucasian, father of two daughters and one son who i was a stay-at-home dad for some years). K, what’s required from you? Just BE NICE, conflict has no home here. And BE CLEAN (no piling up dishes in the sink, we have a dishwasher (of course sometimes soaking is necessary :-), wipe down stove and countertop after use, occasional mopping and vacuuming of first floor would be thoughtful. Simply be a considerate person

The monthly “rent” (hate calling it that cuz i’m not a profit-making landlord, just a retired guy who needs to share expenses) INCLUDES EVERYTHING … water, trash, sewerage, property taxes, fibre-optic internet, electricity, heat and cooling, home repairs –i pay all expenses, no ups, no extras.
