Beautiful, historic, brick home in the heart of the city. Walkable destinations include City Bakery, The Chop Shop, Starbucks, Taco Temple, The Charlotte Street Grill & Pub, various Chestnut Street businesses and even downtown! T.J.’s, Harris Teeter and Whole Foods just a stone’s throw away. It’s a solid, old house (real plaster walls) which is maintained by a local management group. Water, gas, heating, garbage and recycling are all included with the rent as well as basic lawn care. Washer and dryer are on site, located in the basement. The front yard boasts a 300 yr old oak and the backyard is extensive. Old brick patio area and relatively new deck are off the dining room. There’s a big living room,(working wood burning fireplace) dining room, sunroom and the kitchen on the main floor. Lots of space for everyone. The four rooms upstairs are typical for a century home in size and amenities. One has a beautiful, non working fireplace with mantle, which seems to be coveted. Each room has a radiator and a AC window unit as there is no central AC, so the electric bill stays really low overall. We somehow got our Internet bill down to $20/ mo ! The brick does a great job of keeping the heat out for the most part and radiant heat is a little too good at times. Long driveway which provides two off street spaces and there’s lots of free street parking available.
I’m a liberal thinking, semi-retired, homebody type who has a love of the mountains and nature. Clean eating, health conscious, no fuss kind of stage of life. My schedule is my own and I enjoy the freedom that comes with that. Social, but have boundaries and respect others boundaries as well. The current roommates had a six month lease which ends Aug. 28th, so it’s time for some new beings to come in and enjoy the area and especially the house. She’s a grand old dame with character and heart!
