Roomy, unfurnished basement bedroom (14’x14’) features a deep closet and a daylight egress window. A same-floor, ornate, tiled bathroom offers a large bathtub and shower. You would be the primary – generally the sole – user of the bathroom and the downstairs, though occasional house guests also might stay in another area of the downstairs. The house offers a shared driveway and ample street parking.

This is a 4-bedroom, 3-bath home. The house is in the placid Garden Home neighborhood of Southwest Portland and northwest of Washington Square mall, affording access to highways and buses to the rest of Portland. Flowering plants, fruit trees and Douglas fir grace the property grounds – you would be welcome to harvest the fruits and herbs.

Already living in the home are the homeowner, his wife and one roommate (m). The house is mostly quiet, and we largely get up early M-F for work, though we enjoy occasional barbecues, poker nights and an infrequent party, such as a holiday or birthday gathering. We also sometimes do home-cooked dinners together.

– You must be LGBTQ+-friendly and accept relationship-nonconforming folks.

– We prefer someone in his or her 30s or older but have no gender preference. Our average age is about 47.

– We are 420-friendly, but we prefer no daily tobacco smokers.

– We cook with meat and gluten.

– No pets are invited, though dogs intermittently make guest appearances.

– Utility room with washer and dryer are immediately next door to your bedroom.

– Gas stovetop, two refrigerators, two ovens, microwave, coffee maker, rice cooker, and tea kettle are all in the upstairs kitchen.

– Fiber optic internet.

– Inviting back patio and front porch.

– As the room is located downstairs, it’s generally cooler during summer and quieter year-round than the rest of the house.

– Rent includes utilities. No deposit or lease is required, though we might ask for references.

– We’d prefer a long-term roommate who aims to socially integrate with the household.

– We share responsibilities for household cleaning in common areas.

– An in-home tour and interview are part of the selection.
