About the roomies

About us: Hello! We are looking for a great hearted, emotionally intelligent person who is interested in making a place their long term home with us. This home is part of a cooperative. 3 female roommates live in the opposite house with their own bathroom and kitchen. We share all public areas of both homes equally. Monthly meetings occur there. At this house, you’d have four roommates total (2M live in the house, 1M, 1F live in tiny homes outside). One of us is a gardener, caretaker, and award winning pianist. Another runs a local nonprofit and likes to camp and write. Another is a go-with the flow geology buff who works in nature conservancy and likes side quests. Living with us means becoming part of a cooperative. This means we meet at least once each month, and we each have an equal vote to add rules to the lease, allowing us to hold each other accountable to things that are important to everyone. There is a house fund (included as part of rent) that can be used for large shared purchases– all of the items we use together are paid for by the cooperative at no extra cost to you, including about half a dozen shared meals every month, plus a lot of staples you’re always welcome to like grains and oils. Eight of us share two bathrooms and two kitchens, but that has never been a problem (and one tiny house does have a composting toilet). We are thoughtful, honest communicators. We clean up after ourselves, and share responsibilities for household chores, gardening, and other projects. We share time and meals together often, and play video games or music around the fire when the mood strikes. We have learned a lot together about community living over the six years we’ve lived here. It doesn’t mean that we are always bubbly and doing everything together. Community living just means that we truly care for each others’ well being and happiness. We’re looking for someone who wants to make this place their long-term home, and wants to invest time into beautiful relationships and shared space. Bring yourself, your ideas and endeavors, we want to support you! If you’re interested in living close to nature and growing your own food in a community one day we want to meet you 🙂 There’s a picture of the roommates here. You’ll also see a house show we threw. It’s not a party house by any means, but we invite the opportunity for two or three larger gatherings each year. If you’re interested, please send us a message, describing yourself and why you’d like to live with us. We can arrange a visit (or Zoom call if you’re out of town)! Thanks for taking the time to read our ad! Have a super perfundo day.
