About the room
THE HOUSE:
The house is 1,400 square feet with a master bedroom and attached bathroom and two other rooms with a shared bathroom (this means generally you would share your bathroom with only one other person).
The house was built in the 50s and was fully remodeled in 2013. It has gas heating, a gas oven and range, and a large kitchen with an abundance of natural lighting and storage space for food and kitchen stuff. A washer and dryer are inside the house. There is a hook to hang your bike in the dining room. We keep the house fairly clean, though it does get a little cluttered from time to time.
There is a driveway and covered carport, a small backyard with a deck, and an outside storage shed. We have raised garden beds in the front yard where we usually grow tomatoes in the summer.
THE ROOM:
The open room is 10β x 11β with a small closet inside. It has hardwood flooring and a large south-facing window. The room is unfurnished. For size reference, the bed in the photos is a full-size bed. The shared bathroom is right next to the room.
LOCATION:
β’ The beautiful Brooklyn neighborhood in inner SE Portland
β’ Close to public transit: 3-minute walk to the 19 bus line, 7-8 minutes to the 9 and 17, and 10 minutes to the orange MAX line
β’ Shared carport and street parking, which has never been a problem
β’ Pleasant and walkable with a nearby park with a basketball court
β’ Short walk to Rose City Coffee, restaurants, food carts, a tea shop, and the Aladdin Theater
ACCESSIBILITY:
β’ There are 2-5 steps to access the house depending on which entrance you use (unfortunately the house is not wheelchair accessible)
β’ Due to allergies, the house is low-fragrance (unscented dish and laundry soaps and no incense, scented candles, or perfumes) and we cannot accommodate pets
β’ The house is remodeled and in good condition, and there are no signs of mold
About the roomies
We are three folks in our early thirties to early forties looking for a new housemate for a cozy home in the Brooklyn Neighborhood. We are looking for someone who is reliable, kind, good at communicating, relaxed, and looking for long-term housing. We have been in this house for 8 years and intend on staying indefinitely. We are experienced living in shared housing and are accustomed to sharing space.
We welcome LGBTQIA+ folks, people of color, and people with disabilities.
