About the room
I’m looking for a roommate to fill the larger bedroom in my two-bedroom bi-level apartment. The apartment is the second and third floor of a row home right in the heart of Fairmount. The apartment gets GREAT natural light and is incredibly spacious. The lower level has a large open concept living/dining area with exposed brick. The back half of the house has a recently updated kitchen with a breakfast nook and tons of cabinets and storage. At the back of the kitchen there is a half bath and a laundry area (in unit laundry!!) and off the laundry area are doors out to a cozy, shaded balcony enclosed with a 3ft high wall and with a few chairs. On the top floor there is a decent sized full bath with a large linen closet and a glass shower. I am looking for someone to fill the back bedroom which is the larger of the two. When you walk into the room there is a short entry way with a built in desk/vanity on the left side. The room also has a step-in closet with tons of built in shelving. The best part is the doors out to a private balcony which is large enough for multiple chairs and even a table if you wanted! The doors face south, so they also let in a TON of natural light. There are mini splits throughout the apartment for heating and AC which have been really affordable. There are also multiple closets throughout the apartment. The apartment is unfortunately not handicap accessible. The first floor of the building was formerly a chiropractor office but is currently being renovated to be a bakery, my landlord expects it to open in 2027.
Rent does not include electric, which ranges from about $100-$300 month total depending on the season.
About the roomies
I am a newly single woman (she/her pronouns) in my early thirties and work as a public defender here in Philly. I moved here for law school and have been here for almost 4 years now. I am very chill during the week, usually in bed by 9:30. I like to have friends over to hang out but nothing rowdy (think wine and gossip), and love throwing one or two parties a year! I am pretty outgoing but I do like to be able to come home and chill. I am much more bothered by dirtiness than messiness, so my stuff might accumulate a little around the house during the week but I’m regularly wiping down counters and vacuuming the floors. As a public defender I’m passionate about justice but also have a dark sense of humor (gotta cope somehow). I love puzzles and crafts and occasionally bake. I really value kind but honest communication and am usually pretty direct- I’d much rather get ahead of an issue than let it fester- and I’m super open to feedback.
