About the room

It’s a second-floor condo with high vaulted ceilings, nice hard wood floors, and some very cushy carpets in your bedroom. It has a full bathroom that is yours, decent shared and private storage areas, central AC / heat (newly installed), with modern appliances (dishwasher / in-unit laundry machines). It comes with a patio and outside storage that’s perfect for summer lounging or outside smoking. The living room is furnished with a massive L couch, a 65 inch mounted Roku TV with several gaming consoles, and a bunch of movies / games. The kitchen is decently spacious and has really nice surfaces made of good material with a pantry, microwave, toaster oven, oven, stovetop, garbage disposal, etc.

There are currently two cats living here, so unless the animals are service animals or emotional support animals, you’d have to get special permission from the property management. I had to get them to make exceptions for both of my cats. I’d love to have another pet here!! But they might shoot you down. Worth asking, and I’m very cat / dog / other pets friendly, despite not marking the checkbox.

It’s located on the eastern edge of Longmont with easy access to I-25 and the diagonal highway. Super convenient access to Boulder, Denver, or Fort Collins. There is a pool, quite a few dumpsters / recycling, and overall it seems very peaceful and quiet here in the neighborhood. There are a few parks nearby.

Please let me know if you have any questions! I’m an open book about the property and would love to meet you, get to know you, and see if we are compatible roommates and if this property meets your needs.

About the roomies

I am the only other roommate. My current roommate is moving out at the end of the lease because he found an opportunity he couldn’t turn down. I love the condo so I’m staying here.

I’m a queer cat dad who works from home most days with a home office. I work as an IT Project Manager, and while stressful, means I have plenty of financial security. My hobbies include moves / TV, video games, going to fitness classes at the local gym, doing escape rooms with friends, board games, being out in nature, biking, and hiking. I’m hoping to get back into choir, playing more musical instruments, or theater, but haven’t had the time recently to commit.

I’m LGBTQ+ friendly, neurodivergent / disability friendly, cannabis friendly, drink myself very infrequently (like once a month or once every two months socially), and am sensitive and respectful toward those around me. I’m extremely flexible and communicative, so if something isn’t working, come talk to me, and we’ll figure out a solution. I’m trying to have a household where we both (or all if you share the bedroom!) respect one another, put energy toward the home, and have a friendly relationship - ideally friendship :D

My ideal roommate is someone who cares enough about the space to want to clean it, but isn’t stressed about a bit of clutter or a counter of dishes from time to time. Someone who appreciates checking in on one another for safety, respecting one another to give rides if someone’s car is in the shop, or to help one another if we need some assistance with something. Someone who is willing to give and receive a little grace if there’s a miscommunication and work to resolve things.

Regarding cleaning / chores - I’ve lived in homes on either side of the spectrum - everything hyper clean all the time (a bit too much cleaning / stress for me, but I’m open to putting in energy if it’d be respectful) vs clutter everywhere / chores slacking (constantly cleaning up after everyone else and never having counter space isn’t great). For me, it’s about finding balance that respects both peoples’ needs. Talk to me about yours! When / if you visit, I won’t make it look any cleaner than it normally looks so you can get an idea of what my “clutter” looks like. I keep mostly on top of trash, dishes, vacuuming, surfaces, etc. and occasionally deep clean and clean restrooms and stuff. Hopefully you also want the space to feel clean enough to show off and use, and we find a good balance of chores!

I have a solid rental history, local family and friends, and am willing to exchange references of past roommates, meet up somewhere neutral, show off the place, have multiple folks show up for safety, etc. Please let me know what matters to you, what would make you feel respected, what would make you feel safe, and please come talk to me if anything changes - I’m a conversation away from changed behavior or a different solution, so let’s talk!

I look forward to meeting you and eventually living together!
