About the room
The DuPont station apartments are located near the lettered streets district. Walking distance from all civic center and old town shops, and it’s a very quiet neighborhood that borders the Whatcom middle school. The apartment is a 3rd floor space with quiet neighbors on either side, I’ve rarely heard or seen anyone coming to and from the apartments next door. The building has a common area on the main floor that has a workout room (treadmill, elliptical, free weights/ bench and yoga mats). Another common area has a tv, couches and a ping pong table that anyone can use during the day. The apartment you’ll be staying in has all the amenities you could need. Kitchen includes dishwasher, microwave/stove, and I have the rest, air fryer, coffee machine and toaster that you are more than welcome to use. I also have a full set of kitchenware, plates, bowls, silverware and cooking utensils, tupperware and other goodies. The living room and dining room will be partly furnished upon move in, I have a couch and chair for the space but my roommate will be taking the bar stools and dining table. The room you’ll be staying in is the first room when you enter the apartment, adjacent to the kitchen and dining space. The rooms are the same size but the one you’ll occupy does not have a window, it’s listed on the property management website as two bedrooms but technically it is an office space. It has a full closet and the rooms temperature control is individual. The air flow in the room with a small fan and leaving the door open every now and then helps keep things from getting too cold or too hot! The bathroom is very spacious and has a full wall mirror above the vanity and plenty of under the sink storage, bathtub and shower is also very roomy. The balcony has space enough for 4 maybe 5 if you’re not moving around too much. Right now there is a corner bench and a few chairs that will go when my roommate leaves, so we can furnish that to our liking :) overall this is the nicest and newest apartment I’ve lived in since I moved to Bellingham 4 years ago, and I’d love to get a new roommate to help me share the rent and power bill. Rent is listed at 1,895 and after power, which can vary, rent is under 1,000 per month.
About the roomies
Heyy 👋🏼 my name is Melanie and I’ll be the roommate who you will be living with! I’ve lived in this apartment for a year now and I’m interested in staying in this place for another year :) I have two cats who are very social and friendly but will require some attention from you anytime they see you. I work at a gym in Burlington, so I commute to work 4-5 days a week and regularly stay at my boyfriend’s house in Sedro-Woolley. He comes over every now and then but I’m gone more often than I’m home. When I am home I tend to keep to myself and my room unless I’m cooking or using the bathroom. I enjoy reading and journaling, so I don’t make lots of noise. By no means do I require someone who partakes in quiet activities, this will be your space as much as it is mine and I hope you use it to your leisure. I’m a generally tidy person as far as shared spaces go, so I’ll make sure you never feel like my mess is in the way of you using the kitchen or bathroom :) I like to clean once a week at least just to keep up with things, but daily organization and cleaning is my way of making sure the apartment never feels cluttered and dirty. Your room is your space and however you keep it is not my concern, but I’d love to be able to work out a shared cleaning routine just so we never feel obligated to clean up after each other :) if you feel like we could vibe as roomies please text me at this number since I’ll receive those messages easier than on roomies, (509) 654-3956. I so look forward to hearing from you and setting up a good time for you to view the apartment to get a better feel for the space! The photos I have posted are on the living room with some of the dining room visible, and the kitchen. I’ll post more pictures when I’m home from work later today (May 13th)
