About the room
The apartment is a two bedroom one bath with laundry in the basement. Dishwasher included. Very spacious living room. About 10 minutes walking from the Grove St PATH Station and nearby access to Hamilton Park. Family owned Building with a live-in super. Open bedroom is big enough for a queen size bed, but it’s definitely more spacious with a twin.
June 1st is move in date, but because this arrangement is kind of last minute, the landlord needs to know by May 15th if someone is taking over the lease.
About the roomies
21F. I’m looking for a new roommate to take over my current roommate’s side of the lease as she’s moving out at the end of the month. I’m a recent graduate at The School of Visual Arts, and I do game development, so nerdy roommates are a plus! I love having game nights, and ideally would want a roommate who I can be friends with as well. I’m usually a good communicator and receptive to feedback so I would like someone who isn’t afraid to say what they’re feeling, but can also be civil about it. I try to be as accommodating as I can be, so I want someone who can also meet me in the middle if we run into any issues. In terms of personality, I’m extroverted and easygoing, but I’d say my living style is a little more reserved.
I’m not the biggest fan of having guests over that frequently, but I’m ok as long as you communicate and give me a heads up in advance. I’d personally prefer keeping it to one or two times a week. In terms of guests, I just ask that if you are having someone sleep over, you let me know in advance and that they leave with you if you’re gonna be out for a long time. Usually I’m in the city like all day working during the week, but on my off days I like to stay at home. On rare occasion I might invite someone over; but I’ll let you know with at least several days notice. Either way, I’m sure we can make something work out!
Preferences: Keeping things clean (Doesn’t have to be spotless, but let’s keep the place presentable!), Someone who can be direct (I have difficulty picking up on social cues), Lesbians! (I really don’t like having men over), and fellow Artists.
Dislikes: Avoidant tendencies and people who are afraid of confrontation. It’s scary for me too, but I try to be as approachable as I can, and I need someone who can be mature and honest when something is wrong.
Absolute dealbreakers: Smokers. Whether is be cigarettes, vapes, weed, or whatever else, I’m asthmatic and that’s off the table. I’m also allergic to cats, so no cat owners sadly :( Male roommates. I’m ok with guests.
Anyway, I know it’s a bulky statement, but the TLDR is: Just work with me and I’ll work with you to make this arrangement great for the both of us :)
