Forest Wind Way
About the room
It’s a peaceful apartment complex, there are families and kids, and single professionals here. Lived here a year and haven’t noticed any shady dealings or loud parties. The parking situation is pretty good. I usually walk about 50 feet to my front door. If I get home late, all the best spots are taken but there are still plenty more not too far away. Carrying in groceries has never been a hassle for me. There are covered spots available too, if you’re willing to pay more per month. The amenities include a gym, a pool, maybe a dog area but I can’t remember, and this place is somewhat big so it’s easy to miss if it’s there. The garbage situation is like this: there’s two big dumpsters at the property exit, one for trash, the other one for furniture. I’ve never seen the trash overflow. I usually just throw my trash into my trunk and deposit it on the way to work in the morning. Out that same exit (walking distance) there is a bunch of shops including a Hibachi asian restaurant, a pizza place, a BBQ place, and a decent coffee/breakfast place that has limited hours. Just across the street is a Harris Teeter, it’s not my favorite place for groceries but it’s literally a 4 minute drive from the apartment and you only have to sit through one stoplight. The complex actually has two entrances/exits, either one will put you on a major road conveniently (Maynard or High House).
About the roomies
Since I wrote so much about the apt complex above, I’ll put info about the apt itself here. It’s… 1400 sq ft? On the first floor. I’ll have to edit this later when I find the exact specs. It’s PLENTY of space for me. Both rooms are the same size, both rooms have their own dedicated bathroom. Living room and kitchen are in the middle. Washer and dryer are right next to my room, near the kitchen entrance. I do not care what time you do your laundry, or use the kitchen. Most nights I sleep like a corpse. I can hear kitchen and laundry noises, but soundproofing from bedroom to bedroom is nearly perfect, if you have a drum kit we can test it. As far as I remember, both rooms are nearly identical, I think I have a slightly bigger closet but smaller bathroom. Your room would have a smaller closet but bigger bathroom. And like I said, this place has plenty of space. I work retail in Raleigh on a 9-5ish schedule. When I’m home, I’m usually making comics or playing video games at my computer desk. I can hang out, but I usually default to being solitary. I’m trying to be boring/stable and live cheaply these days. I don’t have pets right now but I keep considering it. I get along well with puppers and cats, so it’s fine if you bring those, just note that the apartment charges a pet deposit and monthly fee. (IIRC it’s less than other apartments, but still not free, I could get you exact info if you need it.) And yeah, exotic pets are fine too, it won’t bother me if you have a 6-foot python or a 6-inch spider. If you have a 6-foot spider, please swipe left. No 6-foot spiders. That’s where I draw the line. As far as the living room goes, I barely use it so you’re welcome to. It has a couch, entertainment display (no TV at the moment, but you could bring yours), dining area with table, it even has a little patio. I’m not sure if you could use it for grilling, but you’re welcome to try. I barely have any complaints about this place and intend to stay here at least another year. If I had one complaint, it would be that people live upstairs and I think they’re either giants or NBA players. Maybe once a week, for a few minutes, I notice some stomping noise. It’s never been bad enough to compel me to complain or get the apt people involved.
