About the room
This is a true standalone house with a large private backyard, a rare find in the South Bay. The two bedrooms are the same size and don’t share a wall (there’s a closet between them), so you get great privacy. Your bedroom is south-facing with windows on both the south and west walls, giving you beautiful natural light throughout the day. The living room and kitchen are open floor plan. The kitchen was recently renovated with tons of storage and is fully equipped. We’re talking Le Creuset stainless steel pots and pans, a KitchenAid stand mixer, everything you need to cook and bake. The living room is furnished with a deep Crate & Barrel sofa, an armchair, and large south-facing windows. We also have a minisplit system for central heat and air. The backyard is set up for outdoor living with Adirondack chairs, a swing, and a fire pit. We also have a Tuff Shed for extra storage, which happens to have a Peloton in it, free for you to use. What’s Included $1,925/month, all utilities included (yes, that includes WiFi). Driveway parking and in-unit washer/dryer also included.
The Neighborhood: Wiseburn sits at the corner of Hawthorne, El Segundo, and Manhattan Beach, which means you get the best of all three. The neighborhood is super safe, extremely walkable, and the neighbors are genuinely some of the friendliest around. There’s a walking path three blocks up, pickleball courts at the park five blocks away with evening pickup games year round, and El Porto beach just a 10 minute drive away. The area is also well stocked with farmers markets: a Sunday market in Hawthorne just 5 minutes away, a midweek market in downtown Manhattan Beach, and another in El Segundo, both about 10 minutes away. Right off Rosecrans you have access to basically every grocery store imaginable: Trader Joe’s, Erewhon, Sprouts, Ralphs, Whole Foods, and Food 4 Less all within minutes. Lots of yoga studios and coffee shops along Highland Avenue in Manhattan Beach as well. Walkable gym options include Equinox and The Full Routine, with Bay Club, Planet Fitness, and Coast Fitness a short drive away. Easy 105/405 freeway access makes commuting simple, about 15 minutes to Playa Vista and 30 minutes to Costa Mesa.
About the roomies
I’m a South Bay native who spent a decade in the Bay Area before moving back to LA. I work full-time in corporate sales and am out of the house most weekdays from 7am to 4pm. When I’m not working, you’ll find me reading in the backyard, walking the Manhattan Beach Greenbelt, or cooking something in the kitchen. I love hosting, especially as the weather warms up, our yard is perfect for it. I’m social but not a partier. I do have three pets: Carmela Soprano (Italian Greyhound/Chihuahua mix, hypoallergenic!), and two cats, Blue Ivy Carter and Scout Finch. You won’t be responsible for them at all. I have trusted pet sitters when I travel, so you just get the benefit of living with cute animals with zero obligations. I vacuum daily to keep the cat hair managed.
