Have you ever lived in a co-op before? It’s a great experience! You learn how to cooperate to get things done, sharing resources, resolve conflicts, participate in new activities, and make new friends! Here in Urbana-Champaign, a pleasant college town with a lot to do, it can be a way to learn about the place, or become part of something different and learn new things along the way. We have weekly house meetings, communicate about needs or ideas or issues, and strive to make a truly homely environment for all. Swing by and check us out!
There will be 8 people in this 9-bedroom, 3 bath house starting in June, with a couple other people moving out in the months after that, making the total number of rooms available to be 3 private bedrooms. Every member of the house contributes to house dues on top of rent, and shares a collective meal 5 nights a week, with each person cooking one evening. Almost always in pairs of 2, so don’t worry if you are unsure of your cooking skills. We are all here to help. There is a house meeting one night a week, that it is important to attend as often as you can. We have a variety of interests, speak a variety of languages, and love learning about new people and experiences. Let us know if you have any questions.
