About the room

Same Listing, New Move in Date: June 1!

We’re looking for one more housemate to join our large, quiet home in North Capitol Hill. We’re hoping to build a community of compassionate and considerate folks who are looking for more than just a place to sleep. Think of us as living with friends instead of strangers, but not a full-blown co-op with mandatory house dinners — a real home that feels like a sanctuary, with people who are genuinely committed to sharing it.

We have one dog and cannot accommodate any more pets. We can only accommodate one person per room. If this sounds like the kind of home you’re looking for, read on!

Available June 1 $950/month First month and $960 deposit to move in Leasing terms flexible, 12-month preferred Shared bathroom Cozy and quiet room on second floor measuring 11.5×12 ft. About the roomies

About Us: Values-wise, we are an anti-racist, pro-community, fat-positive, LGBTQ+, firearm-free, and vaccinated household. Our current housemates include:

An international tech worker with a passion for knitting & languages (35, she/her)

A substitute teacher/softball coach/grad student who loves to travel & make music (25, she/her, gluten-free)

A postpartum doula and grad student with a passion for animals & nature (36, she/her, queer, vegan)

A payroll auditor with a love for baking and connecting over coffee (23, she/her)

A drama teacher/server with a love for movies and exploring Seattle (28, she/her)

And a 7-year-old rescue pup (40 lbs, Shepherd/Collie mix) whose main passions include cuddles, treats, and protecting the house from squirrels & mail carriers 🐾

We keep our home clean and running smoothly with a rotating chore chart and hold 3–4 house meetings per year to make sure we’re all on the same page. Someone who is familiar with the seasonal needs of a large, multi-level house would be an excellent fit. While we have varying schedules, we are a generally quiet household and respect quiet hours based on a 9–5 workweek.

Our home is social but low-key — we enjoy organically connecting in common areas when we’re not in a rush or just waking up. Most of us travel for several weeks or months throughout the year, so it’s rare we’re all home at once. When we do get the chance to gather, we enjoy cooking (often separately but together), gardening, crafting, puzzles, art, fires, TV, listening to music, dancing, singing, playing instruments, yoga, meditation, and good conversations over wine or cider. We also love live music, musical theater, and hosting friends and family while being mindful of shared spaces.
