About the room
As my experience trying to find a safe and reliable roommate has been poor and unsuccessful: a background check, 2 recommendations, and a non-refundable deposit to hold the room are unfortunately now mandatory.
Basement room with small walk-in closet and small built-in dresser, low ceiling (~6ft) & water meter access inside. 1 window. Use of the 3/4 finished basement would mostly be the domain of the renter (additional 4 windows and washer/dryer access).
I do not partake, but if you use cannabis I am fine with it on the property outside. No other drug use or excessive drinking is permitted.
The house is technically handicap accessible but the ramp is in need of repair; that may delay moving time depending on whether it is necessary for the applicant. There is a disability friendly bathroom on the first floor.
There is an attic with plenty of available storage. Also, a detached two car garage, and a shed, on a cozy lot in a quiet neighborhood, near any amenity you might want.
About the roomies
It is a single family home and I am the only occupant besides my pets: a very small dog, several cats, and two lizards (all very friendly).
I would prefer somebody quiet and friendly, who is comfortable around someone disabled, as I am both autistic and walk with a cane.
I am willing to compromise on cost and utilities if I can find someone willing to split chores (specifically help regarding things requiring stairs or much bending), but it is not a deal breaker.
