About the room
It’s a nice, 850 square-foot apartment with all the usual amenities, and it has a balcony. The apartment complex has a really nice usable pool. We would be sharing a bathroom, but it is a very large bathroom with a nice, big bathtub. The kitchen is very spacious and adequate as well. In your room, you will have a lot of closet space–it should be big enough for a king bed to fit in. The bedrooms and the living room are carpeted, and in the living room, there is a fireplace. There is a washer and dryer in the unit (and they actually work). The neighborhood is really quiet and relaxed, Montgomery Blvd. is a pretty nice section of town with shopping nearby, we’re very close to one of the Walmart grocery stores, a Smith’s, and a Target. The closest major intersection is Motgomery Blvd. NE with Tramway Blvd.
About the roomies
I am a 40-year-old professional guy who is athletic and tries very hard to live healthy. I am a more masculine gay guy, though I wouldn’t say I am exclusively looking for an LGBT roommate (however I am completely down with having one). Professionally, I am the main marketing and sales person of a remote company, and I do some part-time freelance translation. I am actually excited to be starting a new language school here in Albquerque, as languages and linguistics are a passion of mine (I would consider myself a polyglot).
Hobby-wise, being outdoors really matters to me a lot, I am a cyclist and a swimmer who also lifts for my primary physical activity, but I do have a mountain bike and I love to hike and go camping as well. I would hope to be able to find a roommate who enjoys that stuff as well. I also am a writer and I love literature and philosophy, and also reading about history. I love travel and exploring, and also learning about new cultures. I am not a bad cook and love to try out cooking new dishes.
You could say that in general, I tend to be more on the bookwormish side of the personality spectrum (In MBTI I could be either classified as INFP or INTP). Or, you could call me just an agreeable introvert. But basically I am just a person who loves life, but I also love deep and meaningful conversations with interesting people. I may be 40, but I haven’t lost my love of adventure in the slightest. In terms of my daily lifestyle, I like things to be neat and orderly, and I like to cooperate and communicate about important issues as they arise (I have a pretty direct communication style). One of the things that often goes wrong in roommate situations is that a lack of communication leads to resentment, and ultimately conflict. I’d like to avoid all of that, and so I would like to communicate all of the important issues and expectations upfront right at move-in.
