About the room
On a cul-de-sac, near Heritage and Shawassee parks. 5 min walk to downtown farmington. The yard has 3 raised bed gardens that I did not use in 2025.
About the roomies
I have a clean, quiet owner-occupied home in Farmington and I’m looking to build a stable household with a small group of compatible roommates. There are three bedrooms available. One bedroom has its own private bathroom, and two additional bedrooms share a bathroom. The largest bedroom will go to the roommate who shows the most reliability and plans to stay the longest. Stability and compatibility matter much more here than rushing someone into a room. This is not a party house and it’s not a crash pad for people in transition. The goal is to create a calm home where people genuinely enjoy living together and respect each other’s space. Conversation in the kitchen, occasional shared meals, walks or bike rides when the weather is nice, and generally looking out for the household is the kind of environment that works best here. Think more along the lines of a relaxed, friendly household rather than an apartment where everyone hides behind closed doors. My own routine is pretty quiet and structured. I spend a lot of time reading, researching, playing music, and studying the Bible. Most mornings start with watching markets and managing investments. When the weather is good I spend time up north improving my farm property in Lapeer County. Because I occasionally spend time there during the summer, responsible and trustworthy roommates are essential. The house itself stays clean, peaceful, and orderly. Doors aren’t slammed, people don’t stomp through the house, and everyone helps keep shared spaces tidy. The kitchen is open for cooking and shared meals happen naturally from time to time. Ideally the house feels welcoming—sometimes it even smells like cookies—and the roommates enjoy simple interaction without drama or chaos. This home tends to attract people who value calm living, traditional values, respectful conversation, and a generally drama-free environment. It’s a politically quiet house where people focus on living well rather than arguing about the news. No overnight guests are allowed, and roommates have input before any new roommate is accepted so that the household stays compatible. Pets are limited. No reptiles, birds, or exotic animals. The people who tend to do best here are financially stable adults who live fairly structured lives and appreciate a peaceful home environment. If you’re someone who enjoys a quiet place to live, friendly conversation, outdoor activity, and a household where people treat each other with respect, this could be a great fit. Anyone interested should expect a short in-person meeting before moving in. I take compatibility seriously because the goal is to build a household where everyone enjoys living there long term
