I’m Jona. I own the property and have also been the live-in manager since 2011. I have a lot of personal experience with easy, successful shared group living. I lived and worked with professional theater companies in my early 20s and then became the stage manager of the 5th largest regional professional theater company in the US by age 26. Group Living and Working Experiences that are anchored on mutual respect, shared expectations and emotionally intelligent observation of common sense boundaries is actually very easy to achieve. Congregate Living is graceful, friction-free and serene with simple, clear, shared “no-chaos” expectations and generous observation of each others’ personal boundaries. With a live-in manager providing compassionate, positive clarity and support, it’s shockingly easy to achieve harmony that creates legitimate independence and freedom. Folks who are new to simple boundaries quickly discover how simple it is and often, a planned monthly residency can turn into a 2-4 year stay, because people love being here. Independent but mutually comfortable together. There are currently 2 people here who are so relieved that they have found someplace that they can experience as having company or privacy at will, and self-describe as “feeling at home”. There are lots of very large common areas and a huge comfy back porch that looks down into our stream valley and its animal inhabitants. It’s more than tidy and orderly and respectful of persons; it’s charming and fun and relaxed and it’s great to share time with folks with whom you feel safe and appreciated. Many folks who have shared time together here are in touch with each other over time and miles because trusting relationships that enrich personal growth and personal freedom are relationships of value. I can best describe this place as positive, serene and fun and many people become so relaxed while here that magical personal paths that seemed impossible become more possible.
