$850 per month utilities included. Available November 1. Unique basement room in a 116 year old craftsman bungalow at the end of St. Johns’ main drag. There’s one roommate currently but three eventually. There’s backyard chickens and free eggs. A fixed or neutered pet will be gladly accepted without deposit or further charge based entirely on how it gets along with chickens and cats. The room has a decent walk-in closet and lots of squirrely storage. It also has fiber ethernet in the wall so good for work from home or streaming situations. Lots of cabinets and storage in the kitchen and pantry. Room stays warm in winter cool in summer, but also comes with a swamp cooler. Bathroom is shared. There’s a twice monthly cleaning service for common areas and chores are minimal. I.e. you don’t clean anything. Except; hard rule of no dirty dishes left in the sink. Free laundry on site, free fiber wifi, gardening is encouraged (if you can keep the chickens off of it, I know some tricks). Utilities included. No heavy drinking or hard drugs. No smoking indoors except 420. Vaping whatever is fine. Shared parking in the driveway. There’s plenty of street parking and we’re near a lot of buses. Also, once you move in, rent never goes up.

Move in is 850 + 850 deposit. Standard month-to-month lease. You’ll need 3 solid references - work, previous rental, etc. - and have held a job for a year or have other provable income, and at least one social media account - FB/IG etc. Check me on FB, twitter/X, Insta, and all other platforms as roesingape. This is a chill, quiet, adult place in one of the most convenient and cozy neighborhoods in Portland. Parks, grocery, hardware, eye doctor, bars, coffee, river, hiking, dentist, vet, movie theater, post office, burritos - all within walking distance. The vibe in the house is weed not whiskey, video games not sports, plants, music, animals, cooking, books, and easy going. Few parties. Not super social. We all kind of do our own thing but are all friendly. A coven of introverts. No meetings, lots of interesting music. It’s a good place to land if moving from out of town or for a college student or for middle aged burnouts who just want to be left alone and let the world burn.
