About the room

2-story duplex with nice open spaces. There are lots of windows and sunlight, great for potted plants (and mental health). The neighborhood is quiet with nice people around. The property management is very friendly in our experience! They are on top of maintenance and email/call back immediately. Great place to live! Only a few blocks away from CWU. I bike to class and it takes me 5 minutes.

About the roomies

Me and my roomie are looking for another addition to the house starting in Fall Quarter. We are both 28 years old. We are looking for someone who is communicative, mature, and fun! I’m a grad student and my roomie works in the mental health field. As far as our personalities go, we love outdoorsy adventures, we LOVE house plants (we have around 30+), we love animals, communal cooking, healthy eating (I’m a nutrition major), music festivals, and having deep talks about life. We are fairly clean and tidy, but we all have bad days so nothing crazy strict. I have a dog, two cats, and 2 fish tanks. My roomie also has a cat. Our animals are very friendly, and we would willing to welcome another animal so long as they are very friendly and not too persistent with playing with my dog (she’s very friendly, but she likes people attention more than animal attention). My cat can also be VERY persistent in playing with another cat and will likely follow them around constantly, so unless your cat is highly playful and okay with that type of energy, I’d be cautious.

We really really value someone that knows how to communicate properly. If you describe yourself as “quiet” and someone that “keeps to yourself”, we probably are not the best fit. Our last roommate said she was okay with communication and then ended up never talking to us, which made tensions high in the house. I’m very direct in my communication (though, extremely empathetic and understanding), so I am looking for someone that has the desire and maturity to meet us on that level. We want to have community vibes! Someone who wants to cook with us sometimes and play board games/video games. We don’t want a stranger, we want friends!
