Hello! We’re close to finishing our first year at a 4-bedroom place, but two of our current roomies will be moving out. We’re looking for working professionals to round-out the house. The house is a split-level house with 4 large and roughly equally sized rooms. There are two rooms for rent, one is $750/m and shares a bath with one of the other roommates(F). The other room is $850/m and has it’s own bathroom. Utilities are typically $100-$150 each per month. Our lease renews 6/1, so we are hoping to find our replacements as soon as possible.
The home is located in a quiet neighborhood near hiking trails and Vancouver lake. We’ve got a good garden started for the year, super excited to see what we can grow. The home has 4 large bedrooms with plenty of room for a bed and a desk, and two large living rooms so there’s always some public space available when you need to escape the confines of your room. We will be signing a new lease starting June 1, each roommate will need to be on the lease, and each roommate will have to go through the management company’s application process ($40 fee, 650 minimum credit score). Property management has been good to work with, and we have had zero issues over the past year. We have really been able to turn the house into a home, and hoping to find a couple more great people who fit right in!
The two current roommates are myself (38/m/civil engineer), and Tracy (29/f/Grad Student). We both work full-time jobs. I expect to return to the office full-time soon, but it’s been a hybrid since I got the puppy which has been really nice. I typically take him to work in the mornings with me and work from home in the afternoons.
We’re trying our hands out in the garden this year, think we’re going to have garden food galore :) We’re both pretty laid back, looking to live our busy lives, make some good memories along the way, and live a generally happy existence surrounded by good people.
I also have a 5 month old puppy Roger, and hes a sweetie. One of the roommates who is leaving has 2 cats and a dog, so he was raised around both and great with both. I would love to have another doggy friend for him in the house, and/or cats, so if you have pets we’re open to it! We also have a halfway finished catio in the backyard, if you have a cat that enjoys the outdoors it wouldn’t take much to finish.
