๐ŸŒŸ Unique Living and Working Opportunity ๐ŸŒŸ

This is an excellent opportunity for a young and ambitious individual looking for a place to live and a job (with compensation, see below). The job requires relocating to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, a destination island with lots of beaches and recreational activities. Join our dynamic caregiving team and make a meaningful impact while residing in a luxurious 4-bedroom home!

About Me: Iโ€™m a spirited individual living with ALS, using innovative tech to stay active and connected. I rely on a feeding tube, ventilator with tracheostomy, Hoyer lift, and a computer to communicate. No prior experience is needed for the job, though โ€“ weโ€™ll guide you every step of the way!

Before my ALS diagnosis, I lived in NYC, working for a global consulting firm. I loved biking around the city, traveling, and hanging out with friends. I try to stay positive and like to laugh, I also have a serious side to me depending on what I am doing. I was diagnosed at 38 and am now 46.

Your New Home: I live alone with my caregivers. You will have your own furnished bedroom in a 4 bedroom house. You and one other caregiver will occupy two of the three bedrooms upstairs. I am in the master bedroom downstairs. It is a spacious home with a large kitchen, a mini gym in the garage, electric bikes, and more. The house is in a private community with a pool, a private beach and other amenities. Youโ€™ll be part of a supportive and friendly household.

The Vibe: The environment is unique because we work and live together (which we love, but itโ€™s not for everyone). We have a lot of fun working together, and each of us is working towards our own goals (school, careers, projects, etc.). The house is generally quiet day and night as people are usually in their rooms when they are not on shift. We enjoy having background music during the day and occasionally have friends over for drinks in the evening.

The island scene is full of restaurants and bars accessible by bicycle. Additionally, it offers many recreational activities, including zip lining, boating, fishing, and hiking. The University of South Carolina Beaufort (USBC) is conveniently located nearby, attracting a vibrant student population and contributing to the islandโ€™s youthful atmosphere. Savannah, GA and Charleston, SC are nearby cities that are renowned for their artistic ambience and nightlife.

Your roommates: It will be just me and one other person, you will be one of two live-in caregivers. The other live-in caregiver is a 22 year old male from NYC and is an easy person to work with. He primarily focuses on his studies (software engineering), is hilariously extroverted, not afraid to speak his mind, and has quickly become one of my very good friends. He has been with me for two years and has found this place to be an ideal environment for self-discovery and planning his future. We are both single and gay (LGBTQ friendly)

Additionally, there are two external caregivers, a personal assistant, and a house manager who live nearby.

What will you be doing? *Caregiving - taking care of me including, toileting, transferring, eating with feeding tube, bathing, dressing, ventilating with a tracheostomy and miscellaneous caregiving tasks. *Administrative tasks - helping manage my calendar, doctors appointments, and other activities. Help me with projects around the home including tracking supplies, organization, adaptive technology, chair adjustments and miscellaneous tasks

Ideal candidates will be: *Compassionate - Genuine care for others. *Reliable - Dependable, trustworthy, and can work in a team setting. *Tech-Savvy - Comfortable with computers and Google suite products. *Organized - Keeps track of schedules and tasks. *Adaptable - Flexible to changing needs and situations. *Driven - Has clear personal goals and focus. *CLEAN - Meticulously cleans up after me and yourself (we are very clean).

Whatโ€™s in it for you? *Monthly pay of $2,500 (and no taxes withheld), *Furnished bedroom in a large 4,000 square foot house including all utilities *Enjoy a flexible schedule, allowing you to work approximately 50 hours a week. You will have ample time for personal pursuits and hobbies. *No commute is required; youโ€™ll simply walk downstairs for your shift! This means no car is required (no car payments, no insurance, no repairs, no gas!) *The opportunity to make a positive impact and build meaningful relationships with colleagues. *Iโ€™ll also cover the cost of reasonable relocation / flights.

If youโ€™ve read this far, then youโ€™re probably a great candidate for the job. Please take the time to answer these questions: *What do you like to do in your free time? *Do you have family and friends in the US? *Are you married/partnered, dating, or single? Do you have children? *What interests you about this job? *Are you clean, organized, and a quick learner? *What questions or concerns do you have about me, the living situation or the job?

Priority will be given to responses which answer the above questions, provide a resume/social media links. Thanks and we look forward to hearing from you.
