About the room
Bedroom: Optionally furnished! I have a desk, desk chair, nightstands, and lamp available, or they can easily go into garage storage if you have your own things. The room is spacious (approx. 10’ x 11’) with great natural light and a large closet with full-length mirror sliding doors.
The House: You’ll have access to a fully furnished, open-concept two-story home on the Santa Barbara Eastside. The upstairs living area features a bright kitchen, dining area, and living room that opens to a small balcony with a couch and BBQ. It’s a great space, complete with a large TV, PS5, and Nintendo Switch. I love to cook and have a very well-stocked kitchen with a dishwasher. I’m happy to share my kitchen gear with someone who treats things with care!
We have an in-unit laundry room and a garage downstairs (parking is ample on the street). There are two bathrooms; I use the half-bath off my bedroom for everything except showering, so the main bathroom’s large counter and cabinet storage will be all yours, and we will just share the shower/tub.
Location: Walking distance to a BCycle E-Bike Station and the Santa Barbara Bowl. Super close to Trader Joe’s, Sprouts, State Street, East Beach, and Downtown.
About the roomies
About Me & My Cats I am a 38-year-old high school biology and environmental science teacher. During the school year, I have a busy, consistent schedule. I often go to the gym after work and I also coach softball in the spring, which means I’m usually home between 5-7 PM. Politically, I am liberal and passionate about the environment and human rights. I’ve been sober for over three years, so I am looking for a home environment that reflects that. I’d like to live with someone who is also sober, or who only drinks or uses marijuana responsibly and occasionally, and does not use illicit drugs.
Outside of work, I love to read, swim, cook, exercise, dance, socialize, go to the beach, work on random art projects, and host the occasional game night or dinner party. Because of my early mornings, I keep things quiet after 10:00 PM on school nights, but I’m much more flexible on weekends! I keep a regular chore schedule to keep common spaces tidy and am looking for someone who naturally does the same.
I share my home with two 6-year-old British Shorthair cat sisters. They are indoor-only, gentle, and sweet, though shy at first. Because their safety is my top priority, I am strictly looking for a roommate who genuinely loves cats, has experience living with them, and is naturally mindful about keeping exterior doors securely closed. (Sorry, no additional pets allowed! Small fish tanks or terrariums would be considered.)
Ideal Match I’m looking for a reliable, clean, and communicative professional or student who is independent but down to hang out, share a meal, or play a board game from time to time. No smoking or vaping of any kind inside or on the property.
