Quiet neighborhood. Side street not much traffic but close to freeway. Del Rosa is the nearest ramp. Walking distance to bus stops , Del Taco and many fast food on Highland ave 2 banks, theater and convenience store on Sterling Ave. Smoke free, pet free, drug and alcohol free. Laundry and kitchen access.. Room is Plain but please decorate to suit your personality. Please use my bed and dresser, cubbies & TV, to organize or you may remove my things to use your own furnishings. Im easy going, i just don’t allow smoking to pollute the air or drinking, or loud company to disturb the peace.

Long term 2 to 7 years, Full time working men age 40 to 75 retired men. We don’t expect midlife 6 months transitions, or new kids first time on their own. Basically it’s divorced or widowed men who just want inexpensive living for retirement. Or breaking the cycle of generational family living to be “on your own”. They all keep to themselves, quiet and respectful. No smoking. Everyone is working, or out to day programs or enjoying the privacy of their room with Sleep, or their private T.V. Seems like a ghost town or library, there are minimal conversations, zero visitors, and zero loud music. TV sounds might come out from the rooms, or snoring. Everyone keeps to themselves. Very quiet. Very clean. There is a common dining room, & kitchen but no common living room however, there are 3 outside patio, or tree shaded sitting areas that nobody seems to use because everybody is always in their room or out to work. This isn’t a social group, very introvert, work/relax. Pleasant, peaceful. A place of “Rest” . (Not a social club, or retirement home with community activities). If you use IHHS this could be a good place for you… Still on your own, but “not alone”. P.S. if your dad is newly widowed and the family is deciding what the next step is this might be the place. Independent living. No meals provided, no dementia or anyone that needs highly supervised. Not for high medical needs or wheel chairs. About you: we will do a “week to week” while you decide if you like it here. After we see if you’re a good fit then you can do a long-term commitment. We reevaluate commitments every 6 months. One man is on his 7th year here. As we fill the last two rooms we are looking for a long-term commitments. If you travel light and everything you own fits in the backseat of a car that would be great. If you have a 16-ft U-Haul your things are not going to fit. I hope you can use my furnishings if you prefer your own furnishings everything must fit in your room. And we can juggle my furnishings around to get them out of your way.
