Elmira NY 30 Miles South of Ithaca for a more peaceful quiet atmosphere - Opens at the end of the Summer of 2026: Beautiful Home near the Hospital and the Colleges in the Historic District - more pictures/info upon request w/your application:

• Professionals - Transfers - Interns - Grad Students -Rotations- to rent Unit/room in “Must See, very clean, Beautiful”, spacious 4000 Square Foot furnished home, with 19th Century Hardwood Trim/Flooring, nice white carpet, 6 BR’s, 3 Baths, 2 Kitchens, Real Cedar Closets, 3 Large Living Rooms, Dining Room/Office area, Dining Room w/Pool Table, Den, Basement (Rec Room, Laundry Room and an Exercise Room) , plus two Porches - in a quiet, professional setting.

• This really is a very nice, peaceful place to live, be career or grad student oriented, with a smart, cool, nice group of upwardly mobile professionals that are or become friends, and enjoy each others company (when we actually see each other, since we are all incredibly busy with our own lives). Residents generally renew and stay for long periods of time, because of the atmosphere. Part of which is due to an occasional guest being fine, but we are all very considerate of others need for space and privacy.

This is a Full house share and the Bedroom opening will be one of the following:

– A 12x12 BR, Cedar Closet, nice mini-blinds, w/Queen sized Brass-Bed, high end mattress, Desk, Chair, Antique dresser, Lighting, Fan, AC window unit, in a really nice Hardwood Floor w/area rug room ($600 for 6 months and $550 for one year). Please note, I really need a minimum 6-month lease and preferably one year (Rate for 3 months would be $625 per month). Opens Sept 2026 and may include a garage space 4/5 days a week for an additional $25 per month. Please see email process below to engage. I will hold a room/unit for you, if we come to an agreement, sign a letter of intent/lease etc.

— All units include off street parking

• Home has lot’s of privacy, in addition to AC, Cable “Access”, Wireless Internet, Off Street Parking, Nice Appliances, Including Washer and Dryer, in a Good Neighborhood w/in the Historic District. Close to schools, shopping, bus-line, parks, I-86, tourist attractions, downtown and only 20 minutes from Corning, 30 from Watkins, Ithaca or Tioga Downs Casino and 45 from the Wellsboro Grand Canyon.

• Beautiful landscaping, flowers and lush green lawn (weed free and watered often). Most snow (it’s NY!) and all lawn work taken care of by owner, including most house cleaning though I definitely ask you clean up after yourself.

• Rent for the BR is noted above, for an agreed upon lease, pro-rated depending on move date (Plus, a $500 Deposit to secure the room).

  This includes all utilities (IE., electric, heat, internet, water are all paid by me).

  In addition, Rent is negotiable for the right person, special circumstances, House and Lawn work, Misc. expense reductions and/or lots of travel etc.

• No smoking inside, so please take a walk and smoke:)

I sincerely and respectfully ask you to please send a short note of interest for the opening, just as you do with a Realtor, Apartment Complex or for a job opening.

• Since I do not do formal applications, please include your LinkedIn or other proof of who you are, what you do and any additional information that you feel will be helpful in the interview and “background check process (Some type of basic info on Credit, Rental History, where you work etc.); and I will respond in kind with my references”. (Again, just as you do with a Realtor or Apartment Complex or job opening).

• I assure you that everyone in my home goes through the same vetting process, and that their Employer has done a thorough Background Check as part of their employment package.

• In addition, I’m hopeful that if the roles were reversed, and I was interviewing for an opening in your home, you’d want to do the same to prove legitimacy, no negative records and decide if it was a good fit:)
