My housemate moved in with her partner, so I’ve got an empty bedroom available. The rent is $650/month including all utilities, on a month-to-month basis so we can be sure it’s a good fit for both of us. I don’t expect a roommate to be my best friend, but I’d like to find someone whose personality and lifestyle meshes well with mine, and it’s much more important to me to find the right person than to get someone in there right now. (In other words, I’m pretty picky.)

• Quiet tree-filled residential neighborhood (Eastmoreland): between the Woodstock and Sellwood commercial areas, south of Reed College
• Easy on-street parking
• 15-minute drive to downtown; 2 miles south of Powell, 3.5 miles south of Burnside
• 1/3 mile from #75 bus, 1/2 mile from Springwater Trail, 1 mile from #19 bus and Orange MAX line

About your space:

• Main floor bedroom, 13’x8’, unfurnished, with closet and large windows facing the backyard
• Your own separate dressing room, 9’x6’, with lots of natural light, built-in wooden drawers, and more closet space — however, because it’s only accessible via the bathroom, it can’t be used as an office.

About the house:

• Two stories, 2.5BR/1BA, built in 1920; I’ve lived here for 20 years
• Big bathroom with vanity that includes plenty of drawers
• Shared kitchen, living room, and dining room are already furnished
• Dishwasher, washer/dryer in back of kitchen
• Basement and outdoor shed are available for storage
• Private fenced backyard with raspberries, fruit trees, and patio
• A small, goofy, well-behaved cat

About you:

• Professional with a reliable income source
• No smoking or vaping
• You’re OK with cats and have no pets of your own
• Prefer a quiet home environment
• Having a car would be ideal, because of the location

It’s just me, the owner of the home. I’m omnivorous, politically liberal, and outdoorsy. I work from an upstairs home office and go out of town a lot the spring and summer.
