About the room

Spacious, master‑bedroom‑sized room (20’ x 13’, 260 sq ft) with complete privacy at garden level, opening onto a yard that faces the Rivanna River forest.

Ideal for one person or a couple.

The room has its own entrance, which you can use if you wish. It is very light and bright on sunny days, located on the ground floor of a townhouse in Riverrun—a lovely, quiet cul‑de‑sac neighborhood where you mostly hear birds rather than traffic. At the same time, you’re only 10–15 minutes from UVA, downtown, Whole Foods, Kroger, gyms, and most other places you might need.

The room is carpeted and has a private bathroom with walk‑in shower and a large closet. It currently has a beautiful large wooden desk (which can be removed if you prefer) and easily fits a queen bed, desk, sofa, two armchairs, and a coffee table, as it is set up now.

High‑speed Xfinity internet is included. You’ll also have access to a washer and dryer and full use of the common areas.

Parking is available right in front of the house.

Riverrun also has a private swimming pool just a few minutes’ walk away, and you’ll have easy access to some of the best trails in Charlottesville.

About the roomies

You’ll be sharing the home with a single woman, a professor at George Washington University, who commutes to D.C. twice a week and works quietly in her upstairs home office on other days. I rarely entertain at home, so the house is consistently quiet and calm.

I love dogs (and dearly miss my own Westie, who lived to 17.5), but because the room is fully carpeted, accepting a dog would require prior discussion and special arrangements to protect the space.
