Are you a working professional having to commute Monday through Friday into Ventura? For work, are you gone most of the daytime working and just need a room to sleep in at night, that is located in a safe and quiet neighborhood in Ventura?

If yes, I have a unique room rental opportunity in my home for an individual like you. I rent one room for working professionals (of any field of occupation) that just needs a room Monday afternoon through Friday morning, in which you can leave your belongings and lock your room over the weekend.

Previous renters worked for the Fire Department, Navy Base, College, Police Department, and oil industry, etc. Some rented for months, some years. This arrangement helped meet their specific Monday-Friday needs and saved them money, and maybe it can help you.

Why do I do this? So I can have the weekends to myself, and reduce the amount of cars in front of my house for at least 2 days. Having a roommate that leaves for work during the day and is gone on the weekends also reduces my utility expenses, which allows me to keep the room rental this low for you. And I feel good providing a unique affordable space for working professionals who just need a room Monday through Friday.

If you are tired of commuting from your city to Ventura every workday, or find that hotel rooms and airbnbs are too expensive, this might be a solution for you.

I encourage you to do the math. $755/avg weekdays in a month.

If you want, your room can be furnished with the small fridge, microwave, bed and dresser (as seen in photos) at no additional cost. There is no kitchen access. This setup is better for people who eat out most of the time. There is no washer or dryer available. Previous renters just took their laundry back home to wash, however if you want to do laundry there is a laundromat by the college that is just a 5 minute drive within the same neighborhood.

PRIVATE ENTRY DOOR

From the outside, you will have your own private entry door to your room. So you can leave and come back in without disturbing anyone. (See Photos)

ABOUT THE NEIGHBORHOOD

It is a quiet neighborhood with good neighbors. Again, it’s located in the neighborhood right below the Ventura Community College.

I am the owner. I am retired and I also live here in this house with my two other family members. We keep to ourselves, but you can always reach out to us if you need to while you are renting the room.

ABOUT YOUR ROOMMATE THAT YOU’LL SHARE A BATHROOM WITH…

Your roommate across the hall is friendly and keeps to themselves. They clean up after themselves in the bathroom after they’ve used it. They are gone during the day. They are quiet, mindful and respectful of everyone. They keep their room door closed and they don’t loiter in the shared hallway or around the property. This roommate uses headphones to listen to TV and music or they play these devices at low volume. They don’t ever host visitors or have guests over. In fact, they also have their own private entry door of their own so the only time you will ever see them briefly is if they were in the hallway because they were going to or from the bathroom.

THE BATHROOM

As mentioned, you will be sharing a common hallway and bathroom with only the roommate across the hall. (See photos)

In the bathroom, you will have your own assigned medicine cabinet to put your bath belongings into and your own drawer to store your toilet paper in.

ABOUT YOU

For this to work, and for the sake of the roommate you will be sharing a bathroom with, the following needs to be true about you:

• You are a professional (of any field of occupation) that works in Ventura or in the neighboring city, that will only occupy the room between Monday 12pm through Friday 11:59am.

-You are a person who will not occupy the room on the weekends. (You can leave your room locked and secured over the weekend)

-You are a person who will leave to work during the day and return in the afternoon/evening to rest. (Sorry, but people that work at night have made so much noise when leaving or getting home from graveyard shifts. So it’s important for the other roommate that you are someone who works during regular business hours (leaving after 7am) and coming back in the afternoon/evening to rest.)

-It is important that your occupation is not a work-from-home occupation because that just drives up the utility costs which are not calculated into the cost of the room-for-rent amount.

• You are a person that does not require hosting visitors in your room.

-You are a person who can be quiet, mindful and respectful of your roommate.

-You are able to play devices at a low sound level or use headphones.

-You are capable of keeping your room door closed.

-You are capable of cleaning up after yourself in the bathroom.

-You don’t need access to a kitchen or washer/dryer machines.

• You are a person that can pay upon approval the full security deposit + 1st months rent + any prorated weekdays if you start prior to 1st.

-You are a person who is able to provide proof that you are currently holding a Monday-Friday job in Ventura or in the neighboring cities.

Rent is due on the first of every month. Utilities included in the rent amount is a moderate use of electricity, water and trash for 1 person. Usage of the utilities is on the honor system.

No subletting allowed.

Firm on monthly rent amount, and firm on security deposit amount. Will prorate weekdays if starting before the 1st of the month.

The following is all due at the same time. Security deposit + 1st months rent + Prorated weekdays if starting before the 1st. No exceptions.
