The house is in the heart of walkable West Asheville, on a quiet street with no traffic, just a few blocks from the intersection of Vermont and Haywood.

You have off-street parking, a private entrance with a little porch, and a lovely backyard that backs up to the neighbor’s community garden.

The space itself is wonderful but quirky. It’s a day-lit furnished, partially finished basement with a private bedroom, private sitting area, and private art space. You walk into the door to a sweet cozy sitting room, then into a large art space, and to get to the bedroom you have to walk through a laundry room/your closet space under some low ductwork (so best for shorter people). It is a great fit for someone who wants to be mostly private, have space for art/crafts/etc, but needs lower rent (for Asheville these days anyway).

So if you are still interested…read on. ~ $750 + utilities per month (total about $925 give or take per month) ~ respecting and caring for the house and furnishings ~ shared yard work (mowing in summer, raking in spring) ~ maintaining clean shared spaces and contributing to supplies (tp, trashbags, etc) and taking out garbarge

Non-negotables: ~ only one person, (no families or couples), ideally female ~ NO pets of any kind (even if it is a friendly and lovely small dog or cat) ~ NO smoking, drugs, or heavy drinking of any kind ~ Stable income (2x rent at least) ~ Good communicator ~ 2 references ~ quiet at night and parts of day (as I work from home)
