Leigh's room

We have a room (individual or dual-occupancy) open in our 1906 craftsman house, available 6/1 - $675. Another room opening sometime in July or early August, again, $675. The house is a 3 bed/2 bath, 3-story house with a backyard and basement. If you have accessibility needs, please note there are stairs to enter the home and then a set of stairs leading to the top floor and basement. We have two dogs and a cat. Unfortunately, we can’t accommodate additional animals at this time and #MustLoveDogs. Home is located in the Eliot Neighborhood, inner NE (Broadway/Williams). Many street cars, bus and Max lines within walking distance.

The energy is pretty low-key, one member occasionally offers virtual therapy for their job, so remaining respectful of noise is important at times. That said, we’d love to host more intentional gatherings or engage in home projects, meals, or gardening as a house. Our place would be a great fit for a student, creative or someone interested in the above community interests. It’s important we maintain a safe and equitable living environment with respect to our own and our community’s intersectional and/or marginalized identities, and will not tolerate support of genocide, police or personal violence, racism, ableist, or trans-, xeno-, whore- or homophobic-like ideologies. It’s important we collectively and regularly explore needs and learnings in these areas together. All we ask is that you pay your bills on time, are considerate of cleaning common areas, mindful of quiet hours during the week, are a kind and considerate human at baseline, and will be an equal and active participant in the house.

Some of the photos are older, but just to give you a general overview of the layout. The home is mainly furnished, however open to accommodating personal furniture and space for storage in the basement. All rooms on the upper level. The open room is not furnished and is featured in the images with the light green walls, and previous occupant’s personal items. (Note, wooden bookshelf will be deconstructed and removed in advance of move-in). This room boasts warm and lovely east-facing windows and a walk-in closet. You can comfortably accommodate a queen bed, desk, dresser, bookshelf, etc. Housemates share the two full bathrooms (upstairs features a claw-foot tub + shower, downstairs is a large walk-in shower). For transparency’s sake, the full house rent is $2800 with pet fees. Each individual in the home splits rent and utilities evenly, and pet parents pay extra for the babies. If this room is filled as dual-occupancy (ie, a couple), we will renegotiate as a group the rent split.

Leigh (post author, she/they, 32) is a full-time grad student soon to graduate and launch as a Couples and Relational therapist. I enjoy befriending and spending time with housemates, however it’s not required. I am very socially active in my community and may periodically host intimate gatherings to sing or cook, etc. I love projecting - art/painting, dancing, reading, etc. Wanting to do more garden/outdoors activities!

Other housemates are Dylan (he/him, 35) works for USPS; enjoys biking, video games, dog walks (shares a room + animals with Leigh). Fio (he/him, 22) soon to graduate art school and travel abroad July/Aug; enjoys biking and photography.

Pets:

• Rigby - 3 y.o. Black pitty mix. She is anxious, sweet, loves humans, hates cats, tolerates Grub. We keep her away from Mom. Mainly sleeping potato and fierce speed demon in the backyard.
• Grublet - 1 y.o. Pug. The boy is high energy chaos upon first meets + food time. Loves all animals and humans, really good cuddler but on HIS terms and schedule lol. Very cute.
• Mom - 8 y.o. Grey cat. She is aloof, talkative, hates the dogs, sleeps and frequently tries to escape to the great outdoors (she’d been an outdoor cat many times over, but keep her inside due to proximity to high-speed streets nearby). She is my mommy, I am her baby.
