We are four roommates looking for a fifth to move in to this house we share.

We share a bathroom, kitchen, and living room. Your room would be roughly 9.5x12ft, or 114 sq.ft.

COSTS

• $432 a month
• $800 refundable deposit.
• $85 application fee, which goes directly to the landlord who uses a third party company to perform a background and rental history screening. This would be for a candidate who has viewed the space and met with the housemates and is serious about applying. If you have questions about the process please ask.

THE HOUSE: Your room will be roughly 100 sq ft. We are located in a pretty private part of the neighborhood, with on-site parking and a long driveway separating us from the street. We are a few blocks off NE 42nd and NE Killingsworth. Near lots of food and some fun retail and coffee shops with bars in walking distance. Close to Conocordia New Seasons.

We have a great front lawn with rosemary, sage, 2 plum trees, blue blossoms, butterfly bush, and other fun trees. There is a big built-in firepit that we use in the warmer months as well as a BBQ. We have two raised veggie beds that are ready for growth soon.

There is a covered concrete area which is useable as a workspace, with outdoor storage for bikes/machinery. 7x20 concrete area in the back, largely unused.

The kitchen is sizeable and shared in a respectful manner. We clean up after ourselves pretty well and it’s almost always been available for use when I’ve needed it. We have a stove, microwave, electric kettle,, hot pot, and other appliances. Plenty of pots and pans and other cooking utensils. And perhaps most importantly a dishwasher.

There is not currently a washer/dryer setup (we’re talking about investing in one). But there are several laundromats nearby.

*Sorry, no more pets. We have one animal living here and cannot accept more.

Rent will be due on the first. We share bills equally and they are generally asked for around the same time each month. Electric, internet is month, water billed quarterly. Bills will be prorated based on your actual move-in date.

• Dean is in his mid-20s, a musician, artist, and full-time student. He has Geia (the dog) who is usually happily hanging out in his room when he’s gone. Though the youngest, he has called this place home for the longest (four years). He’s a great roommate and an open communicator.

• Zoe, 40, is a vintage reseller and works part time at a boutique in town. From the Bay Area but loves living in the PNW and has family in town. Enjoys swimming at the river during warmer months and checking out local markets/events.

• Christian is also in his mid-20s. He is a student and works in the food industry. He enjoys getting out in nature and is a quiet addition to the house that mostly keeps to himself.

• Chad, 31, is a high school English teacher. Chad is a polite, friendly guy that usually spends his evenings going out social dancing.

We all have different schedules and so we’re rarely ever all at home at once. We generally keep to our spaces, but we have an open communication with each other and work as a team to keep the common areas clean and welcoming. We’re looking for someone easy going, tidy, and able to communicate well. This is an inclusive and respectful household and expect that of any new member of the household.
