My name is Abbie (she/her) and I am looking for someone to take over my departing roommate’s lease for a nice and spacious bedroom, with an en-suite bathroom with a shower and a sizable closet starting June 1. The unit is a two story 1400 sq ft townhouse with 2 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms (bedrooms have en-suites and the half bath is on the first floor) and a backyard with a detached garage (parking not included) located in Bloomingdale. Being right off North Capitol Street the house is about a 15-17 minute walk to both NoMa (red) and Shaw (green) metro stations, as well as walking distance from the 80, 90, 92, and P6 bus lines, places like Harris Teeter, CVS, Trader Joe’s, Union Market, and is in just in general a great walkable area.

Rent is $1,675/month plus utilities but there is a one time upfront cost of a $250 rental application and roommate substitution fee and a $1,650 security deposit.

I recently turned 27 and am a consultant who mostly works from home. When not working I like to watch sports, TV shows, and movies, but also enjoy going to pub trivia and live shows, having wine nights, and a night out when I am trying to combat the demons of time! I am open to live with anyone cool (preferably female) but as a black queer woman, my non-negotiables are that you respect and value my human rights and those of similarly marginalized communities by not being racist or homophobic or just generally awful. I would love to be good friends/hang out with my roommate but I can also just peacefully coexist if that’s preferred.
