Hi! Looking for someone to share this 2 Br, 1.5 bath, 2 story townhouse in San Rafael. 5 min from 101. Walking distance to 4th st/downtown San Rafael, bus depot, Whole Foods, Montecito/TJs shopping, Dominican University.

$1,025 by the 1st of each month, plus $1,025 deposit to move in = total move-in cost $2,050 Wifi - avg. $35 each per mo, PGandE - avg. also $35 each per mo. (a bit less in summer)

Microwave in kitchen. Half bath downstairs - shared full bath upstairs between both bedrooms.

No smoking or 420 allowed in building, no drugs, very little alcohol consumption.

I do have one cat. Litter box kept in lower cabinet in downstairs ½ bathroom. Open to someone who has one cat. If so, $500 pet deposit required.

This is a serene household, respectful of privacy and alone time. Looking for someone who wants the same, enjoys being in their own room/sanctuary, and harmonious interactions when we do see each other. If you have a significant other, as I have done with mine, best to go to their place. Two people in here is cozy, but it’s not conducive or spacious enough for (regular) guests or sleepovers.

Room: Fits queen size bed, dresser, desk. Faces east, sunny view of trees. Average size closet, window. Room looks over the Smart Train tracks but it’s light rail and infrequent, surprisingly quiet. Faint freeway white noise with the windows open, but they are double paned so that helps.

Me: I am friendly, independent, looking for the same. I consider myself light hearted, creative, progressive. I love animals, writing, films, books, art, humor, theater, fitness, music, meditation etc. Mostly work from home, love to get out for hikes when I can.

You: Looking for someone considerate, clean, kind, responsible, independent. I’m pretty easy going, just don’t want to clean up after someone. Wash dishes and wipe down stove after using, empty garbage when full, each take turns w/full cleaning (bathrooms/vacuuming) every two weeks. Someone who will take care of the place in the same way I do and just wants a peaceful, quiet home.

I do my work and Netflix etc in my room. Prefer roommate want same, so the living room is a neutral area and not taken over by one or the other. My last two roommates and I had a great arrangement; communication, if even by text in the next room, is key. If on occasion one of us want the living room for vegging/computer/working, we each tend to do that when the other isn’t home or we arrange times that work for both of us.

Same for kitchen, flexibility and communication works so each person gets kitchen space to themselves when wanted/needed. I’m vegan and would prefer to not live with a big meat eater. Fine if we’re in kitchen together on occasion but two people cooking at same time can get crowded.

There will be a roommate agreement to sign. Background check/application required.
