Charlie's room

We have one room open in our house come May! The house is a 3 bed/2 bath 1,600+ sqft house with a backyard and a two-car garage (we’ve been using it for storage). There are two cats, a dog, and four chickens (hello free eggs!) who live here, so we’re full up on furry critters. This is not a party house, but we know how to have fun upon occasion! This place would be a great fit for a professional or a fellow grad student.

** Maintaining a LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent, and disability-friendly environment in the house is super duper important, so you have to be on-board with that to live here. **

The open room is a little over 120 sqft with a nice big window. The occupant would share the full guest bathroom with a step-in shower and a bathtub with one other person (plus the occasional house guest). For transparency’s sake, the full house rent is $2695, and the two smaller bedrooms are $850 each.

All we ask is you pay your bills on time, you clean up after yourself (especially in the kitchen), are mindful of quiet hours during the week, are a kind and considerate human at baseline, and will be an equal and active participant in the house. It’s a plus if we can be friends, but not required. :^) We’re always down having roomie dinners and movie nights, though!

I (Charlie, they/them, 25) am a full-time grad student in a local professional mental health counseling program and I also have three jobs (including one in healthcare and two in education). I am very busy and love sleeping, but I am also a big extrovert and love people too. I do have friends over on occasion and like to cook and bake! I have been living here in this house since early 2022 and I love it here. I have lived in the general Portland metro area since 2017.

Other housemate is Nik (he/they, 24) and Nik works front desk at an imaging company. Nik is super into EDM and has lots of plants.

Critters are:

• Cooper - 8 y.o. LH tuxedo cat, sits on-command, knows his name, hates dogs (except for Lyra for some reason?)
• Wilson - 6 mo. SH tuxedo cat, he’s just a little baby who doesn’t know anything (except his name)
• Lyra - 6 y.o. BC/Lab mix who is very sweet and loves people (a couple dog treats short of a box though)
• Chickens: Ducky, Thistle, Lemondrop, and Sunny. They all live outside.
