Hi there,

I’m Tameka, and my roommate Alex and I are looking for a 3rd roommate to fill a room we currently have available. The house is an old style Victorian in a prime location in Midtown Sacramento. We’re within walking distance to many popular and acclaimed restaurants, hot spots and more. The home itself is older, but moderately remodeled by the landlord, Jeff.

Our Hard Asks: Must be pet friendly. There are 2 indoor cats (Sawyer and Huckleberry) that roam freely throughout the house…mostly Huckleberry…she seems to think the house belongs to her. While Sawyer is a lover of all people but is very laid back. Both cats belong to me, or I to them, which is why we respectfully ask for no additional four legged fur babies.

Must be LGBTQ+ friendly

No couples please

No hard drugs or alcohol abuse of any kind.

No smoking (vapes are ok)

Must be able to afford monthly rent

Must be able to share a space with multiple individuals and be respectful. *Though there is an apartment on the first floor it is not attached to our unit, we communicate with them often as we share the house. We have a very cozy relaxed communal environment. We all have our own spaces, our own work/life balances and we also support and look after one another.

About the room/home:

Our landlord’s name is Jeff he would be the one, should things move forward, you communicate with in regards to the contract and rent. The room is a private room, with a large shared (with Alex) bathroom and kitchen. No dishwasher, and limited closet space, but the room itself is large enough to call a studio (spacious enough to have a mini living with a full sofa in your room).

We also have a loft upstairs, which we use as our living room/common area for hang outs, guests or just your own entertainment. Currently, it is a work in progress as we are using it also as storage, but there is a cozy living room set up. All parking spaces in the back of the house are taken, but there is street parking with a permit provided by the landlord, but would have to be mindful of the days where there is street cleaning. Please note, there are a lot of stairs.

The best part, the rent is $1100 flat. Includes utilities, Wi-Fi, on-site W/D, some storage space in the basement, but not a lot.

About us, the potential roommates:

I’m Tameka, I’m a business professional who works in AgBio and Business Development for an Agbio firm. Although I work in the Agbio world, my degree is in interior design, and 90% of anything pretty in this home is due to me.

Alex, owns their own business, and mostly works from home, though travels a lot for work.

Our downstairs neighbors are (while separate) also newly moved in only a few months ago. Their names are Miles and Tucker. Both are avid bike riders and Miles is a baker.

The reason we’re looking for a new roommate is our current roommate has reached the end of his lease and is moving in with his girlfriend. He will be missed but we wish him the best.
