I have a great room for rent in a house that has an urban farm mainly in the backyard with chickens, turkeys & soon to be bees and also food gardening areas! So if you like to garden and grow things this is a great house for you.

It will be available March 1 and I will be showing it whenever anyone wants to look at it. The rent is $1,000.00 and $100.00 for utilities gas, electric, water and wifi.

It’s in a great neighborhood just five blocks from the Dimond District shops like Farmer Joes, CVS, Peets and many wonderful restaurants. It’s just off of Lincoln Ave and is very easy to get to via highway’s 580 & 13 and it has bus service a block away and even more buses down in town. It is also very close (a short walk) to Dimond Park which is the city of Oakland’s second biggest park and it has the warmest swimming pool in it. We are also just down the hill to Joaquin Miller Park and Redwood Regional Park so nature is very close by.

The neighborhood is pretty quiet with a very diverse group of folks and it is a little one block street and we do not have street sweeping at all and with plenty of parking!

The house is very sunny and pretty quiet and a two bedroom house with both bedrooms (12’x12’) on one side of the house separated by the bathroom (which we would share) and the bedroom has a big closet in it. The other side of the house has a big living and dining room and the kitchen is very big (with a big and pretty new fridge) also with lots of counters and cabinets and the laundry room is next to the kitchen. The backyard is really big and that’s where the animals live but there is a lot of space for us humans also! There is not a lot of storage space as it only has a small garage where my tools and hay for the animals is kept and the house is pretty well furnished and in the bedroom that is being rented there is a dresser a small table and a brand new super comfortable very expensive queen size bed my old roommate is leaving (you can see if you like it or not) and whatever else you would need. It is a non cigarette smoking house inside but I’m okay with pot but I don’t partake in it.

I am a 65 year old man who works a lot doing I’m a 65 year old man who does remodeling/handyman work but I also do many different kinds of healing body work and massage which I occasionally give sessions in the living room. I have lots of interests like cycling, hiking, art, music, cooking (mainly organic foods and I am an omnivore but I don’t eat a lot of meat). I was a world class athlete for 30 years and world traveler (and I’ve lived in some foreign countries in my youth so I have a big appreciation for other cultures) so I am fit and in pretty good shape. I’m a fun guy who is light hearted and easy going and easy to get along with who enjoys having roommates who are pretty clean (I’m not fastidious after all it is a farm but I give it a sweeping or vacuuming once a week) and like to have good, clear communication about things because life is so much better that way and I have no problem talking about world events and such. I don’t make a lot of noise but I do have a good stereo in the living room and tons of cd’s of a totally eclectic range of music which you are invited to use if you want to. I also have lots of plants in the house and outside but would welcome you bringing more in! ;-) I do have a wonderful and totally sweet older cat and four younger cats all very sweet so the house is full of animals and they all are indoor outdoor cats. I have a beer or glass of wine here and there but I’m not “a drinker”.
