About the room

This room is in a sunny north Park Slope apartment, just a block away from the R train into Manhattan. You’ll be down the street from loads of small businesses along 5th Avenue, which they close off throughout the summer for walkers. You would be four avenues away from Prospect Park, Grand Army Plaza, the Brooklyn Museum, and the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. You can also easily get to the Q and B at the 7th Avenue station, and loads of other subway lines at Atlantic which is a 10 minute walk away. The apartment itself has been recently redone and updated with new appliances and flooring. Every room and corridor has at least one window that lets really nice light in both during the summer and winter. The bedroom you would be taking over is on the smaller side, but can fit a full sized bed, dresser, modular closet, and bookshelf. It also has very high ceilings, allowing for more storage. I would be willing to sell my bed frame, mattress, modular hanging closet, bookshelf, and shelves for a small cost (otherwise I can remove for you to bring your own in)! The room is very quiet, on the interior of the apartment, and gets good light from the window and the living room. The building has a live-in super who is in the apartment next door and you would be paying rent directly to the building owner who is also very kind and understanding (they are genuinely the best)! The apartment would be a sublease/lease takeover starting April 1st with the option to renew June 1st.

About the roomies

You will have one queer roommate in her mid-20s who works mostly from the office Monday-Friday and occasionally on weekends. She’s very clean and kind, especially in shared spaces. Your rooms are separated by a long hallway and courtyard. There is one bathroom which the two of you will share and is cleaned either weekly or every two weeks. She takes care of wifi and gas bills, so you would be paying her directly. The roommate works in fashion and graphic design, and she loves cooking, the movies, and going to the park– so hopefully you will have things in common!
