2 blocks from Iverson Mall. 1.8 mile from Southern Ave and 1.4 miles from Naylor Road metro stations (green line). Metro bus stops are 1 block away. There multiple town centers surrounding the area. Close access to SE and NE DC. Also 12 minutes from the national harbor and Alexandria, VA.

1 bed 1 bath private basement with central AC/heat, fenced-in backyard with patio/gazebo, and plenty of outdoor gardening space.

The common areas are fully-furnished, including the kitchen, dining area, and patio. I don’t want to have to throw away the futon couch and dresser shown in the basement pictures, so please utilize them!

OTHER FEATURES: Smart door locks on each entrance

Outdoor security cameras (Google Nest doorbell and WYZE backyard camera)

The “bedroom” is literally the entire basement. It includes a bathroom and a shared washer/dryer. The basement is comparable to a small studio apartment the main space where you see the dresser is 9’ x11’5“. There is a separate back door entrance with your own code. I would need to access the washer/dryer at least once a week. You can choose the day and time that works best for you.

The large 6-drawer IKEA dresser shown in the picture is empty and unused, so hopefully you feel comfortable using it. There is also a velvet futon couch that’s been living in my basement. Ideally, you could utilize those pieces of furniture in the space. There is also a storage closet under the steps that you can use. The last picture is of the storage closet underneath the steps. Perfect for storing suitcases and other small storage items. The shelf is perfect for storing your shoes and hanging coats/clothes. There’s also plenty of space for you to furnish the place to your liking.

The basement used to be a play area for my cats, so they may sprint down there to explore if you leave the door open. There is a small closable pet door on the basement door. So you’ll be able to kick them out or let them in as you please without compromising your privacy. You may hear them bouncing off the walls from above at night, but other than that, they tend to keep to themselves.

About the roomies

What I’m looking for in a housemate

I’ve been living by myself for a while and have found that my biggest comfort is coming home to a clean home and happy cats! I’d be more than happy if I could find a roommate that doesn’t disrupt that. Keeping the space clean and “cat-proof” is my top priority. Cat-proof means making sure they can’t access any potentially dangerous foods/objects.

I’m considerate of others and create space for open communication. I’m not too concerned about personality differences, but I would like to find a roommate with the qualities listed below:

General criteria:

  • Not racist, sexist, or homophobic.
  • Anti-genocide.
  • Clean and tidy around shared space
  • Responsible and reliable
  • Good at communicating requests or concerns.
  • Comfortable with a shared bathroom
  • Good with cats or at least neutral/not scared of them.
  • Has no pets - my cats are allergic to meeting other animals🤧

About me I’m Brie! I’m the homeowner and the roommate! I’m 28 and am a DMV native. I’m a part of the LGBTQ+ community and am vaxxed, and covid conscious. I’m a multimedia producer! I focus primarily on producing podcasts and music.

I like to keep common areas clean; no dishes in the sink, clean surfaces, no food lying around, etc. I’d like to find a roommate with the same level of cleanliness, as food lying around in a basement could attract pests. I am terrified of bugs and my home is pest-free! I am seeking a roommate who will help me keep it that way.

I am an introvert, so I’m not very social day-to-day, but I am nice! I’ll always greet you and ask you how you’re doing. I’m looking for a roommate who is flexible with communication. I may not hang out with you every day, but I would like to hang out sometimes and live happily together.

I record in my office from time to time, so you may get a text from me asking for quiet if you’re a night owl too, but I usually record when my roommates are asleep or not home so that I don’t have to bother anyone.

My sleep schedule varies due to the nature of my job, so If you ever need quiet on my end text me and I’ll quiet down too! Because the office space and bedroom are small rooms, I tend to utilize the living room a lot.
