Mountain Lakes Trail

Large 2-story Cape Cod, sited on 1/3 of an acre, overlooking Groton’s town lake, on a quiet dead-end street.

Water views and access included! The lake is lovely, and there are conservation lands and trails, around the ponds in this area.

I am trying to fix up the paint, wallpaper, minor repairs in floors or woodwork, I will discount rent for assistance in these tasks. I am looking for someone (individual, couple, or family) to share the house with me: living room, kitchen, dining room, etc.

1 large/master bedroom downstairs and a bathroom next door (not adjoining) with sink, toilet, shower stall, no tub. Main floor has an open-floor plan living room/family room/dining room/kitchen.

2 large bedrooms upstairs, plus an office/study/games room (no door) and a bath including sink, toilet and bathtub, no shower. Plenty of storage/attic space. Big porch in front, stone patio in the back with room for a big smoker/barbeque grill.

A lot of wildlife to be seen, every day in my yard and on our street, on the lake: birds – cardinals, warblers, orioles, jays, goldfinches, tanagers, woodpeckers, screech owls, great horned owls, bald eagles, golden eagles, red-tailed and red-shouldered hawks, cooper’s hawks, sharp-shinned hawks, bluebirds, swallows, herons, snapping turtles, box turtles, cooters and sliders, salamanders, frogs, fireflies, dragonflies/damselflies, bats, and mammals: chipmunks, grey squirrel, flying squirrels, fox, rabbits, deer, raccoons, black bears, coyotes, possums, fisher cats,

The rest of the house can best be described as “fixer-upper”, and as I said above: I will offer reduction of rent if you help me with those projects. Not a lot of furniture of my own – please bring your own!

I am in a bit of a time-crunch, can’t afford to pay the mortgage, my husband and I have gone our separate ways; I got the house/mortgage in our personal settlement. I don’t want to sell, but I can’t afford to stay here on my own.

I am the only current occupant, and looking for roommates. I’m 67, have lived in this house since 1994. I raised my kids in this house. I am an old rock-n-roller, used to be a vocalist for several different bands no one has heard of. I also paint, sketch, take photographs, love all of the physical and visual arts, especially music and film. My 30-something kids and my husband have all gone their separate ways, I am hoping to find a roommate, couple or family to share the space. with me.

I don’t smoke tobacco, other than in the occasional spliff rolled by a friend. I smoke a modest amount of weed, due to budget issues.

I own 3 cats, 2 of which are indoor-only, the other is a barn cat that strayed into our lives; she comes and goes as she pleases. I like dogs too, and aquarium pets – fish, turtles, lizards, frogs, gerbils, hamsters, rats, bunnies, but my cats might like some of them more for the way they taste than for their appearance/activities.

Our neighbors on the street are all friendly and respectful; we know each other, but we don’t date/hang-out.
